a place i believed in

By shirley nigro hill

on one of my last visits to batavia i was almost assaulted by friends of my daughter. if i had not sheilded myself by closing a door and then 15 mims. later we were ambushed, my partner stepped between them and my self god knows what could of happened. but that was not the worst, it was by a local police officer who seemed well acquainted with the persons in question, he did not want to take the report, read me my rights of giving faults information and would not take any statements from witness that would verify the truth. to add insult to injury while i was trying to seek protection and justice with this batavia officer, my daughter and her friends went to my home in rochester, broke in and robbed it, nothing was done because of the twisted lies that started in batavia and the backing that was taking place. the truth has come out here in rochester because of a paper trail mistake made by my daughter. but nothing done in batavia, i was told to come in with my witness to make a report to the officer's lieutenant but two of the witness living in batavia stated, just that they have to live there and that was pointed out to them. when seeking help else where i was told that i should have a lawyer before moving froward. who would think the place where i grew up, loved and when there tried to be part of a growing community is now a place regret having to visit or do business.
