city inspectors

My name is daniel cherry sr.I like what daniel jones wrote its not about what we can't do it's about what we can do.And people think it is a personal attack to tell the truth.Ok thats your opinion.Mine is if something is to be done about problems then you'd have to know the facts.The fact is i am a single dad.I have two wonderful boys Daniel and Jimmy.On january 15th 08 Mrs Ognibene Mjo properties sent us a letter.It says we'll pay heat and our rent will remain the same 740$.Fact-we found we would be paying heat for the whole house.I called the gas company.They told me gas is 275$ all year on a budget.I called becky at hud.She said calm down and if ya don't like it move.So i told her we're looking to move.But i cant give 30 days notice till i find a place.Hud raised our rent by 122.04$ cause my boys dont sleep in the 3rd bedroom.After we complained mrs ognibene mjo properties gave us an uncoscienable lease.I could not sign it.I thought we'd have plenty of time to find a decent place to live by fall when heat comes on again.Well then we got a notice to terminate our lease.We had no lease except through hud.Hud won't share the information in my file.All hud wanted after the inspection was for mrs ognibene to put smoke detectors in an fix a hole in the wall.They could care less that the house is not safe. Thanks batavia fire dept put a smoke detector in.It took me 10 days to fix the hole in the wall.I did it the right way.Unlike the last landlord it will hold forever.So then hud inspected again.There was no smoke alarm in my room.Hud had told mjo properties that if they dont fix things they won't pay for us we'd have to move.Then we got a termination of our non-existant lease.funny isn't it?Nobody ever called me back from the city about fixing anything.I think the picture tells this is a code violation.A very very dangerous one.I don't even think it was licensed electrician?do you?I didnt see a permit down there in the basement either nobody ever inspected it.This is all true.And there are 3 other apartments here that wire is not the only problem here.Also the heaters steam cause they are capped off.And this i was told is a circulating heat systym.It steams so loud i cant sleep at night.O yea and also it heats the lower south apt.Don't think fer one minute hud will help us they dont.They punish you for asking to not pay others heat.this is about the city.This house should have been condemned after the fire which there is no record of "truth".What is happening is not legal for normal citizens not on hud.See they can withhold rent and not be illegally evicted.Its a crime.It is in nys laws not that anyone cares thats the truth.Its rent gouging to say you'll pay heat and not lower rent.Its rediculous.Ok Daniel Jones what can we do?This is not a personal attack its true.We got the short end o the stick.Is the city gonna give us the information i need in court?like how mike ognibene didn't fix anything like he was supposed to?They let them rent out the apt above my room.The kithchen up there the floor is u shape from the fire.This house is structurally unsafe.And nobody fixed anything.We didnt find a suitable place to live yet.And to close if there was no controversy how would things get better?The city didn't need to pick up our mess cause we do...dan and boys
