A 5-year-old boy has a fishing hook stuck in his head on the Tonawanda Creek bank behind the courthouse in Batavia. Mercy BLS is responding. The location is 1 W. Main St.

UPDATE 6:36 p.m.: Medics have requested a police officer to the scene. They need to transport the youngster to the hospital but have been unable to contact the parents, whom they believe are at home. So they want an officer to assist them.

UPDATE 6:46 p.m.: They are transporting the child to UMMC. The fishing hook is stuck in his forehead.

The Genesee County Grand Jury today issued these indictments:

Robert E. Knoefler is indicted on one count of driving while intoxicated, a Class D felony, after he was stopped May 15 in Darien driving his 1995 Dodge pickup on Route 238. He is also charged with one count of aggrevated driving while intoxicated, a Class D felony, for having a BAC or .08 or greater. In addition, he is charged with aggrevated unlicensed operation in the first degree. (Knoefler's driving privileges had been revoked or suspended following his conviction in Attica Village Court for driving while intoxicated, a Class E felony, on May 9.)

Nicholas A. Pleace and Susan M. Fincher are indicted on a charge of criminal possession of marijuana in the second degree, a Class D felony. On Aug. 8, 2010, they are alleged to have knowingly and unlawfully possessed marijuana with an aggregate weight of more than 16 ozs. at 2622 Pratt Road in the Town of Batavia. They are also indicted on one count of growing cannabis by an unlicensed person, a Class A misdemeanor, and one count of criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th degree.

The Grand Jury issued a "No Bill" in the matter of Greg A. Thomas after considering the evidence about incidents in the City of Batavia on April 23. He was accused of unlawful imprisonment, 1st, menacing, 2nd, strangulation, 2nd, and coercion, 1st. The charges were dismissed.

The smell of smoke is reported at campsite #971 at Darien Lake Theme Park. No flames are showing, but they'd still like an officer to check it out. They have shut off electricity to the site.

Darien Fire Department is responding.

A resplendent peacock is reportedly in the roadway at Tower Hill and Cole Roads in Bergen. Law enforcement is investigating.

The officer was unable to locate the bird and is moving on to his next assignment.

UPDATE (by Howard): The peacock above may or may not be the same one reportedly seen in the Tower Hill area. This picture was taken by Laura Scarborough on on Cole Road near Route 19, Le Roy, not Bergen. A friend of Laura's describes the bird as very tame and has been knocking at her door for days. Laura said she's afraid the bird will get hit by a car. It stands right next to the roadway. Laura said the friend has called every agency she can think of and each says a tame, loose peacock isn't their issue.

A one-car rollover accident is reported on the westbound Thruway at mile marker 382.2, near Buckley Road. Le Roy Fire and Ambulance are responding.

UPDATE 5:29 p.m.: There is one victim with cuts and abrasions.

A tire blew up when a 60-year-old man was pumping it up at Memorial Park on Route 19 in Bergen. He has a hand laceration. The location is a bench by the railroad tracks.

A one-vehicle rollover accident is reported on Sweetland Road in Stafford, near Bater Road. No one is around the accident scene. The car is on its roof in a field.

Stafford Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 6 p.m.: The driver has been located and is not injured. He's at the location with an off-duty deputy.

A reader has alerted us that a bear has been spotted mosying along Route 5 near the Genesee County Fairgrounds. Perhaps remnants of cotton candy, caramel apples and fried dough proves irresistable to the omnivore.

A motor-vehicle accident in which a woman is complaining of neck pain is reported at Sumner Road near Route 77, close to the employee entrance of Darien Lake.

An electrical outlet is reportedly sparking and smoking at 10 Maple St., upper apartment (C), in the City of Batavia. The building has been evacuated. City firefighters are on scene.

UPDATE 9:33 p.m.: All units are clear. The problem, apparently, was overheated circuits. They were shut off. The landlord is aware of the situation.

A mini-bike accident is reported in the driveway of 8330 Circular Hill Road in Le Roy. The male victim has a head injury. Le Roy Fire and Ambulance responding.

UPDATE 8:44 p.m.: Before help could arrive, a family member picked up the victim and is driving him to a hearby hospital.

UPDATE 8:47 p.m.: Le Roy, now at the scene, is put back in service.

A fight is reported in the graveyard by Darien Lake. A Sheriff's Deputy and a State Trooper are responding.

If it's the Darien Cemetery, that's located at 10512 Colby Road.

A car reportedly drove into a pond at 12035 Perry Road in Pavilion. Unknown if occupants are inside. Pavilion Fire Department is responding. It's north of Route 20 and on the east side. East Pembroke and Wyoming water rescue teams called to the scene.

UPDATE 7:43 p.m.: Responders are having some difficulty finding the scene. A State Trooper is there. The pond is on the left side of the property, which is located down a winding driveway. No one is inside the vehicle, which is now partially out of the pond. Wyoming is cancelled. East Pembroke is continuing as a precaution.

UPDATE 7:48 p.m.: Pavilion fire is told to stand by in its hall. The site is "...the new house that's up on the hill."

UPDATE 7:51 p.m.: Mercy medics are en route. Pavilion is told to stand down.

UPDATE 7:53 p.m.: East Pembroke's water rescue team is cancelled.

UPDATE 7:58 p.m.: Medics will be put back in service after getting a sign off.

UPDATE 8:05 p.m.: A tow truck is called. The vehicle is out of the pond.

A two-car accident with injuries is reported in front of Top's Market Gas Station, 128 W. Main St. in Le Roy.

Le Roy Fire and Ambulance are responding.

UPDATE 7:56 p.m.: Tow trucks were called. The fire department is back in service. No word on injuries.

A Sheriff's Deputy is stuck on Sumner Road in Darien after his patrol car had mechanical problems and caught fire. He's fine. A tow truck is responding and another deputy is sent to pick up the stranded motorist.

A golf cart rollover with injuries is reported at Terry Hills Golf Course, located at 5122 Clinton St. Road. Town of Batavia Fire Department is responding and Mercy EMS. It is believed the golf cart motor is still running.

UPDATE 12:06 p.m.: Mercy medics are on scene. The fire department's response is cancelled.

UPDATE 12:37 p.m.: The golf cart driver was transported to UMMC.

UPDATE 12:46 p.m.: The victim is a 48-year-old man from out of the area who suffered a possible broken arm and dislocated hip.

A hay fire has rekindled at the site of yesterday's barn fire. That was at 4103 Batavia-Elba Town Line Road in Elba at the Post dairy farm.
