A two three-vehicle accident is reported at Oak Street and Richmond Avenue and it is blocking traffic. A female is complaining of chest pain. City fire is responding along with Mercy medics and traffic control is needed.
UPDATE 1:12 p.m.: A female driver with complaints of chest pain is being taken to UMMC for evaluation. City Engine 11 is back in service.
A one-vehicle rollover is reported on the westbound Thruway at mile marker 377.4. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding and a crew from Pavilion is requested to stage in its hall.
UPDATE 5:48 p.m.: An engine from Pavilion is requested to stand by in Le Roy's hall.
UPDATE 5:53 p.m.: State Police on scene say all responders can go back in service -- no need for fire or medical personnel.

The Water Department will be making a repair to a water main on Chestnut Street near Jackson Street on Thursday, Feb. 13. This will result in Chestnut Street and Law Street being closed to thru traffic beginning at approximately 8:30 a.m.
Repairs may result in temporary water service interruption or discoloration in the vicinity of the intersection of Jackson and Chestnut.

Assemblyman Steve Hawley (R,C,I-Batavia) is holding regular office hours for Genesee County residents at Genesee Community College from 1 to 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 14th. The office hours will be attended by staff members from Assemblyman Hawley's office.
The location is in Room T123 in the Conable Technology Building at the college, location at 1 College Road in the Town of Batavia.
The 139th Assembly District, which Hawley represents, contains all of Genesee County.

A conference on creativity and creative problem solving will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday April 15 at Genesee Community College.
In preparation for the conference, organizers are seeking examples of creativity in the areas of business (for profit or not) and K-16 education to share with people in our region.
The goal is to broaden the conversation around the application of creativity and innovation.
Our business track includes the use of creativity within all organizations, both for-profit and nonprofit. In the education track, we intend to share best practices, tools and techniques in teaching K-16 students how to think creatively within and across disciplines.
We hope you will join us in this critically important conversation either as a speaker or an attendee.
We invite proposals for 50-minute presentations/workshops that broadly or specifically support the conference theme of creativity/creative problem solving.

YWCA of Genesee County has launched a 2014 appeal to help support the Domestic Violence Crisis & Prevention Services program.
There are an estimated 6,000 victims of domestic violence in Genesee County, and YW staff plans to serve at least 1,000 of them this year. That is 300 more than the average number served, Executive Director Jeanne Walton says.
"Our goal is to open a door of hope for victims of domestic violence," Walton said. "They often can't even imagine the freedom and joy waiting for them. All campaign donations will go a long way in helping us to get the job done."
YWCA has scheduled a year of fundraisers to not only fuel the nonprofit's programs but to recognize, honor and celebrate special people in the community. Events include a Fabulous Females dinner on May 10, Wheels & Heels party on July 26, and the Stiletto/Sneaker Walk and Community Harvest Supper on Oct. 1. More details are to come.
Tucked into these special events is The YES! Cafe, a lunchtime program on the second Wednesday of each month.

Legislator Gregg H. Torrey (R,C,I-Bethany) is holding office hours for Genesee County residents of Legislative District #6 at the Bethany Town Hall Conference Room from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb. 15.

A two-car accident with injuries that is blocking traffic is reported at the intersection of North Byron and Searls roads. Byron and South Byron fire departments are responding along with Mercy medics.
A two-car accident is reported at Route 63 and Fargo Road. The occupants are conscious. There is entrapment. Bethany Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding, along with mutual aid from Stafford for fire police and a rescue unit. Mercy Flight is not able to fly due to weather.
UPDATE 4:51 p.m.: An ambulance from Le Roy is requested to the scene.
UPDATE 4:59 p.m.: There are four victims.
UPDATE 5:04 p.m.: An ambulance from Byron is requested. It will be the fourth ambulance in.
UPDATE 5:07 p.m.: An ambulance from Alexander is requested to fill in at Bethany's fire hall.
UPDATE 5:19 p.m.: Two patients have been extricated.
UPDATE 5:20 p.m.: "Third patient extricated, one more to go."
UPDATE 5:27 p.m.: The fourth and final patient is extricated. So far, two ambulances are transporting patients to Strong Memorial Hospital.
UPDATE 5:38 p.m.: Bethany is taking a patient to UMMC.
UPDATE 5:39 p.m.: A total of three patients went to Strong. Two flatbed tows are called. Traffic is backed up. Command says when it clears up a crew should respond ASAP to salt the road. Once that is done, they'll go in service, he says.
UPDATE 6:40 p.m.: The roads are reopened. The Bethany assignment is back in service.
A house fire is reported at 74 S. Lake Ave. in the Village of Bergen. Bergen fire is responding along with mutual aid from Le Roy.
UPDATE 4:56 p.m.: A responder on scene reports the occupant says the basement is full of smoke. Investigating.
UPDATE 4:58 p.m.: Smoke is confirmed in the basement, but no flames showing.
UPDATE 5:01 p.m.: Fire Police will shut down the Four Corners in Bergen "as soon as the train goes by." All Le Roy equipment is cancelled, as well as a fill in unit from Churchville.
UPDATE 5:03 p.m.: Sounds like the problem is the furnace.
UPDATE 5: 25 p.m.: The Bergen command puts the assignment back in service.
A snow blower is on fire near the house at 1055 Sliker Road. Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments are responding. The location is between Gilmore and Hopkins roads.
UPDATE 11:30 a.m.: A Pembroke firefighter on scene reports the fire may be out. Investigating.
UPDATE 11:32 a.m.: Pembroke command confirms the fire is out. Units can stand down. The assignment is back in service.
An accident involving two or three vehicles is blocking traffic at East Main and Liberty streets in the City of Batavia. There are believed to be minor injuries. City fire and Mercy medics are responding along with police.
UPDATE 11:10 p.m.: Two flatbed tow trucks are called to the scene.
A single-vehicle rollover accident with minor injuries is reported 7689 Oak Orchard Road (Route 98), south of Daws Corners. Town of Batavia Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medics. The only occupant, the driver, is out of the vehicle.
UPDATE 2:22 p.m.: A responder says the State Police are on scene. The vehicle is 50 feet off the roadway, on its roof.
UPDATE 2:24 p.m.: The Mercy ambulance is told to continue non-emergency to check the driver. A tow truck is en route.
UPDATE 2:26 p.m.: The town assignment is back in service.
Automatic alarms of fire and water flow are sounding at both Petco and Bed, Bath & Beyond on Veterans Memorial Drive. The Town of Batavia Fire Department command is on scene. A responder says it appears "the pump is not running" at BBB.
They have entered both stores and silenced the alarms at BBB, where there is no water flow or "obvious signs of fire." At Petco, same situation, but the burglar alarm went off, they noted probably because of their entry.
Engine 21 just arrived. All other equipment is told to remain in quarters.
UPDATE 4:01 a.m.: Reps for both businesses are responding in about 30 to 40 minutes.
UPDATE 4:18 p.m.: Everything checks out. One door or something which was supposed to be locked up was "found unsecured." Command says they are leaving it like they found it. Corps command will remain on scene until the reps arrive. The others are leaving the scene and the town's assignment is back in service. Petco reopened yesterday after some fire-related rehab due to the recent blaze in the bedding department of the store next door, BBB, which remains closed for now.
