Three people were reportedly fighting in the parking lot of McDonald's restaurant in Le Roy. Police are now on scene. Two of the individuals left and are walking toward "the eagle." They are described as youths, one has long brown hair.

UPDATE 3:56 p.m.: The police have been provided with two names, both males.

After absentee ballots have been counted, Democrat Pierluigi Cippolone has officially won the election for Batavia City Council Ward 4.

Cippolone wins the election over Republican incumbent Bob Bialkowski, by a final count of 233 votes to 217.

Bialkowski had won the balloted election by just two votes last week. But more than 50 absentee ballots had remained uncounted. Officials counted those ballots, and the final results were announced this morning.

All official results will be posted as they become available from the Genesee County Board of Elections.

Not sure whether the following admonition heard on the scanner was pertaining to the most recent cop call in the city -- to check out a three-car property-damage accident on Ellicott Street by Pauly's Pizza -- or just some sound advice from someone who sounds like he's-been-there-done-that:

"Slow down, Speed Racer! ... I'm not gonna bail you out."

In rainy weather, the advice is "so much the better," n'est pas?

Somewhere eastbound on Route 262, heading toward Byron, is a green van being chased by a guy in a car and Sheriff's deputies. A tire reportedly went flat on the van but it's still continuing on. The occupant(s) are wanted for questioning in a suspicious condition complaint.

The caller came either to her house or business and found the van parked there. When approached, the occupant(s) fled and dispatch was called. The caller tried to block in the van, the vehicles collided, and the van took off.

The caller gave chase. At some point, the caller lost sight of the van, which was also being pursued by her son in another vehicle.

Didn't catch address of original complaint.

UPDATE 2:43 p.m.: The van is an Astro van, light blue, registered to a Batavia driver. It will have rear driver's side damage from the earlier collision. The flat tire shredded and is now completely off. It is was last seen heading at a high rate of speed toward Orleans County, north on Transit Road toward the mucklands.

UPDATE 2:51 p.m.: The van is still barreling along, now northbound, last seen on Oak Orchard Road. The complaint was taken from a resident of Old Ford Road in Elba.

UPDATE 2:54 p.m.: Orleans' deputies have the driver in custody at the junction of old Route 98 and new Route 98.

UPDATE 3:19 p.m.: An officer checking the van says it appears the driver had a passenger and he asks for clarification from the complainant, who recalls seeing only the driver.

Six juveniles are reportedly fighting in front of 126 State St. in the City of Batavia. Police are responding.

A car fire is reported on the westbound Thruway at mile marker 385.3. Town of Batavia Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 10:33 p.m.: Chief on scene, "nothing showing." Assignment held to Engine 24.

UPDATE 10:37 p.m.: A chief reports, "We have a car full of people. The car is not drivable. We'll need a trooper and a tow."

A two-car accident is reported at 6101 North Lake Road in Bergen. One person has a head injury. Law enforcement is on scene and Bergen fire and Mercy medics are responding.

UPDATE 6:51 p.m.: One person needs to be evaluated but is not seriously injured.

A two-car accident with injuries is reported at Clinton Street and East Avenue in the City of Batavia. One person is complaining of dizziness.

City fire and Mercy medics are responding.

Possibly three minor head injuries, and/or other types of injuries, are reported after a car cut off a school bus transporting children.

The accident occured at about 11:50 a.m. when a dark blue or black Pontiac Grand Prix exited the parking lot of the Tonawanda Valley Federal Credit Union and went onto Jefferson Avenue.

The bus driver slammed on the brakes, they locked up, jolting everyone inside. There was no impact with the other vehicle, which is possibly registered to a Bergen driver, who continued on and left the area.

The bus driver also drove away, but then some children complained of pain and so he pulled into the parking lot of the Salvation Army on Jackson Street. Two Mercy ambulances are requested to the scene to evaluate the passengers.

UPDATE: A 6-year-old girl and one other child were taken to UMMC with minor injuries, complaints of pain. Police are continuing to look for the other vehicle.

A car has struck a pedestrian at North Lyon and West Main streets in the City of Batavia. The pedestrian is still on the ground, but alert.

City Fire Department and Mercy EMS are responding.

A tractor-trailer is believed to have snagged cable wires and snapped the pole they were attached to at the intersection of Griswold and Caswell roads in Stafford. Dispatchers have notified the cable company.

UPDATE 1:32 p.m.: A deputy at the scene has ordered that no tractor-trailers be allowed to travel on Caswell Road for the time being. South Byron fire police are handling situation. They were deployed to provide mutual aid to Stafford, which was busy with a nearby traffic accident.

UPDATE 1:38 p.m.: They want to detour truck traffic to Route 237.

A train heading through Batavia was purposely stopped near Cedar Street and the Sand Wash after a man was seen on the tracks threatening suicide.

Law enforcement located the man, who is unharmed, and is helping him. Mercy EMS is at the scene.

UPDATE 3:59 p.m.: This information is courtesy of WBTA's Geoff Redick. The motorist was 26-year-old Joshua Arnold, who sustained minor injuries after he fell asleep at the wheel of his 2000 Isuzu, according to State Police.

A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported at 5631 Clinton St. Road (Route 33) in Stafford. One person is said to be unconscious. The car is well off the road, about 40 feet. Stafford Fire Department and Mercy EMS are en route.

A utility pole was snapped in half and there are live wires in the roadway. National Grid has been notified.

Assistance is requested from South Byron Fire Department. Mercy Flight is available if needed.

UPDATE 12:53 p.m.: The fire chief asks that fire police shut down Route 33 at Prole Road and at Caswell Road and detour traffic.

UPDATE 1:22 p.m.: This accident involved only one vehicle. It is an SUV-type vehicle and the air bags did not deploy. Witnesses said the driver just drifted off the road. State Police said they do not know how the accident happened but they are investigating. The victim is being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital via Mercy EMS. The wires in the roadway were determined to be telephone wires and Verizon has been notified.

Elba firefighters are at the scene of a barn fire in Barre, providing mutual aid to extinguish the blaze. The location is off of White City Road Extension, at 15146 Jakaub Road.

UPDATE 10:25 p.m.: Elba is back in service.

A large quantity of carrots have spilled onto the roadway from a semi at routes 5 and 19. Le Roy Fire and Ambulance Service is responding.

A grass fire is reported at 8215 Batavia-Stafford Town Line Road. Stafford Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 5:29 p.m.: They are still trying to find the fire. Dispatch got two calls on this, one from a driver on the Thruway, and another from someone at GCC, who said the fire was across from College Village in a field.

UPDATE 5:46 p.m.: All Stafford units are back in service. No fire was located despite scouring several roads in the area.

A brush fire is reported in the woods behind a house at 7405 Reuben Road. Town of Alabama Fire Department is called to the scene. Oakfield Fire Department is called to standby in its quarters.

UPDATE 3:18 p.m.: Indian Falls and Pembroke are called in to provide mutual aid.

UPDATE 3:36 p.m.: Corfu requested mutual aid. Corfu's engine with its "deluge gun" requested to the scene. Firefighters are having a hard time reaching the fire through the woods.  A chief says, "the only way we're going to get back there is with a deluge gun."

UPDATE 3:42 p.m.: Fire is out. Chief says, "we're just wetting things down."

UPDATE 3:58 p.m.: All units back in service.

A brush fire is reported at 9103 Wilkinson Road in East Pembroke. The East Pembroke Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 2:54 p.m.: A brush truck from the Town of Batavia is requested for mutual aid but a firefighter familiar with the terrain says the blaze is in a swampy area and the truck won't be able to get through. They are working to find a solution. "You gotta lot of smoke showin'" ..."I don't know how we're going to get to it. It's going toward a house."

UPDATE 2:57 p.m.: They've "got to upgrade" to an engine from the Town of Batavia.

UPDATE 2:59 p.m.: Some responders have to wait for a train to pass before they can tackle the fire.

UPDATE 3:01 p.m.: A Sheriff's deputy is requested to the scene. The fire is believed to have started when someone lit some brush too close to a hedgerow and "it took off." This is "an illegal burn."

UPDATE 3:08 p.m.: Fire police from Corfu are called to shut down the roadway.

A brush fire behind a house in Bergen is burning a path to the woods. A large column of black smoke can reportedly be seen from the location, which is 7338 North Bergen Road. Bergen Fire Department is responding.

UPDATE 2:14 p.m.: The fire is far from the roadway and will not be easy to reach. Brush trucks from Byron and Brockport are called to the scene.

UPDATE 2:17 p.m.: The homeowner says he is burning six to eight rows of hay. He says the location is remote. The mutual aid trucks from Byron and Brockport are cancelled. The fire chief is talking with the homeowner and the fire does not appear to be moving toward the woods.

UPDATE 2:28 p.m.: Firefighters are at the scene working to extinguish what remains of the controlled burn.

UPDATE 2:41 p.m.: The responders are back in service.
