GCC Spring 2012 President's List honorees

Genesee Community College proudly announces that the following students are among 540 students who were named to the President's List for the Spring 2012 semester. Students honored on the President's List have maintained full-time enrollment and earned a quality point index of 3.75 (roughly equivalent to an A) or better. (The college also maintains a Dean's List comprised of students who earn a quality point index of 3.50 to 3.74. Genesee's Dean's List will be released in the next several weeks.)

Genesee Community College offers over 60 academic programs and certificates, including the new Veterinary Technology (Vet Tech) and Polysomnography (Sleep Tech) programs. Genesee is accessible through seven campus locations throughout Western New York, as well as through online classes in the Distance Learning program. College housing is available at College Village, just a three minute walk from the Batavia Campus. With small class sizes yet state-of-the-art technology both inside and out of the classroom, Genesee Community College is known for being "high-tech" and "high-touch."

Alfred State College announces Deans' List for the fall 2011 semester

Stephen J. Havlovic, vice president for academic affairs at Alfred State College, has announced the Deans' List of students for the fall 2011 semester.

Students from both the Alfred campus and the School of Applied Technology campus in Wellsville are selected for the Deans' List if they maintain a 3.50 grade-point average (GPA) out of a possible 4.0. The 4.0 GPA or straight "A" students are indicated with an asterisk (*).

The following Genesee County students were among those recognized:

Alfred State College offers associate degrees in 52 programs in the fields of agriculture, health, business, vocational, and engineering technology, as well as liberal arts and sciences. There are also 19 baccalaureate degree offerings.

Two local students named to Deans' List at Ithaca College

Two local residents were named to the Deans' List at Ithaca College for the Spring 2011 semester.

Allyce Barron, daughter of Bruce and Marie Barron, of Le Roy, attends the School of Music.

Alana Amorese, daughter of Frank and Laurie Ann Amorese, of Linwood, attends the School of Humanities and Sciences.

Coeducational and nonsectarian, Ithaca College is a nationally recognized independent college of some 6,300 undergraduates and 400 graduate students. It offers more than 100 degree programs.

Two local students graduate from Cornell

Two local residents recently graduated from Cornell University in Ithaca.

Ethan Richenberg, of Linwood, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.

Michael Gould, of Pavilion, graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture and Life Sciences.
