A confirmed residential structure fire is reported at 6616 Snyder Road, Elba, located between Lockport and Weatherwax roads. It is a vacant house and the fire was called in from a passerby who said he saw flames inside. All available manpower from Elba fire is called to the scene, along with mutual aid from Oakfield, Byron and Bergen. Town of Batavia is asked to fill in at Elba's fire hall.
UPDATE 1:17 p.m.: A code enforcement officer from Elba is called to the scene.
UPDATE 2:04 p.m.: The Elba assignment is back in service. Barre also responded.

A structure fire is reported on Alleghany Road at the "Emerson Building," Pembroke, consignment store. It is believed to be electrical in nature. Power is off. National Grid advised. Traffic will be stopped at Route 77 (Alleghany Road) and Phelps Roads, Indian Falls. Fire departments from Pembroke, East Pembroke, Indian Falls, Alabama, Oakfield, Corfu, Darien and Town of Batavia are called to respond.
UPDATE 1:20 a.m.: City of Batavia's first platoon is called to its headquarters. The structure on fire is described as located between a house and a barn and they are "using the consignment store as the address."
UPDATE 1:27 a.m.: The property owner has a generator near the house and is told to come in and shut it down, too. "We've got nothing (firefighting capability) on the backside of this and I need something on the front." The response is they are awaiting "more interiors" (crew) to the scene.
UPDATE 1:29 a.m.: A Crittenden tanker is asked to start to the scene in non-emergency mode.
UPDATE 1:38 a.m.: Command asks that the crew from Newstead be told to bring in a thermal imaging camera. Establishing a draft to charge one or more of the water lines appears to be difficult.
UPDATE 1:39 a.m.: Elba is asked to stand by in East Pembroke's fire hall. A 65-gallon drum near the fire scene has caused firefighters some pause, but the owner reports it is empty. However, there IS a full or partially full propane tank inside a building, he reports. Both lines that are charged "are pushing water," says a firefighter. The actual address is given as 7887 Alleghany Road.
UPDATE 1:45 a.m.: "We are having an issue with the hydrant here, and we're changing locations," says a firefighter. Dispatch says the fire is reported to be knocked down (under control).
UPDATE 1:53 a.m.: Google Maps show the location as north of Housekneckt Road, well south of Schafer Potato Farms. "It looks like the main part of the fire is out," a firefighter tells command.
UPDATE 1:56 a.m.: A secondary draft has been established as they continue to squelch the blaze.
UPDATE 2:12 a.m.: They are doing overhaul at the site. There will be no further posts on this incident unless warranted.
A "possible chimney fire" is reported at 5405 Horseshoe Lake Road, Stafford. The caller reports she closed the damper but flames can still be seen coming the chimney outside. The location is between West Lake Road and East Lake Road. Stafford fire is responding along with mutual aid from the Town of Batavia.
UPDATE 7:04 p.m.: Fire command calls for a thermal camera to the scene.
UPDATE 7:33 p.m.: Problem resolved. Stafford assignment is back in service.
Heavy smoke and flames are confirmed in the area of 8487 Lovers Lane Road. Town of Batavia fire is responding.
Law enforcement on scene confirms a caller's report about black smoke from a debris fire at 10700 Darien Alexander Townline Road. Darien fire is responding.

A vehicle found burning in a field off Bloomingdale Road, Basom, early yesterday morning, was stolen, according to Chief Deputy Jerome Brewster.
The 2002 Ford F150 pickup was stolen from a residence on Draper Road, Akron.
The fire was reported at 4:43 a.m. and the truck was completely engulfed by the time first responders arrived on scene.
The criminal investigation is being handled by the Erie County Sheriff's Office.
Alabama fire handled the call.
A car is reportedly on fire in a field in the area of 986 Bloomingdale Road, Basom.

UPDATE 6:11 a.m.: Alabama fire had cleared the scene. Now there's a report of a field fire in the same location. Alabama fire responding.
An enclosed porch attached to a house is reportedly on fire at 5995 Sautell Road. Bergen fire and Mercy medics are responding. Everyone is out of the structure, according to the caller. The location is between North Bergen and Warboys roads.

UPDATE 10:38 p.m: Picking up equipment and preparing to leave.
A possible controlled burn of a residence is reported at Roanoke and Keller Road, Pavilion. A state trooper in the area saw a house burning and stopped and talked to people at the site who informed him that they had called authorities to say they were doing a controlled burn there, but Genesee County dispatchers say they have no such record or information. Pavilion fire is responding.
A field fire is reported at 7939 Swamp Road. Bergen fire department is called.
UPDATE 2:17 p.m.: The caller told dispatch he was burning trash and now the blaze is moving toward his neighbor's house.
UPDATE 2:30 p.m.: Mutual aid is requested from Byron, Le Roy and Stafford fire departments. Each is asked to send in a brush truck.
UPDATE 2:43 p.m.: Holley and Churchville were also called and are now put back in service along with Stafford.
UPDATE 3:06 p.m.: The fire is out and the assignment is back in service.
At 9:45 this evening, a resident reported smoke coming from a house at 285 Maple Road, Pembroke. Heavy smoke was coming from the kitchen area, reported Pembroke Fire Chief Jamie Waff. The house was vacant at the time of the fire. Pembroke, Corfu, Newstead, Indian Falls, Alabama, and the Town of Batavia fire companies were on the scene.
UPDATE 11:49 p.m.: Fire Chief Waff says there is smoke and fire damage in kitchen area caused by the improper dispose of polyurethane rags. Owners were notified upon arrival.

A possible structure fire is reported at 337 Waldon Creek Drive, an apartment complex, City of Batavia.
There is smoke coming from the residence.
Engine 11 is on scene.
The caller reports the it's probable there is nobody home at this time.

A house fire is reported at 4 Genesee St. in the Village of Attica and Alexander fire is responding. A fire chief on scene confirms heavy smoke showing.
UPDATE 2:21 p.m.: Town of Batavia fire is requested to the scene. Mutual aid from Warsaw and Bennington also responding.
UPDATE 2:35 p.m.: Inmates from Wyoming Correctional Facility called in to help. Checking with Attica water utility to make sure hydrants are working correctly. A fire crew from Darien is asked to stand by in Alexander's hall.
City firefighters are at the Taco Bell on West Main Street after an electrical outlet was found smoking following a water leak.
UPDATE 9:43 a.m.: An electrical problem was found and will be handled by an electrician.
A working trailer fire is reported, flames showing, at 3322 W. Main Street Road. East Pembroke and Town of Batavia fire departments are responding along with Mercy medics. Call came from a passerby. Unsure if the trailer is occupied.
UPDATE 2:40 p.m.: This is in the Batavia Mobile Home Park. The fire has gone to a second alarm. Oakfield, Darien and Alexander are called to respond with mutual aid. Pembroke is asked to stand by in East Pembroke's fire hall.
UPDATE 2:44 p.m.: All available manpower from East Pembroke is requested to the scene.
A kitchen fire is reported at College Village.

The call was first dispatched as an automatic alarm of fire. A minute later the dispatcher came on with "updated information" and said there is a confirmed kitchen fire, confirmed via the alarm company.
UPDATE 10:36 p.m.: Alexander's Fast Team dispatched to College Village.
UPDATE 10:38 p.m.: Security reports the fire may be out, but responding units asked to continue.
UPDATE 10:40 p.m.: Alexander can stand down.
