Two accidents with entrapment reported in Bergen

Two accidents are reported in Bergen, both with injuries and entrapment.

The first accident reported was at Jericho and Townline Road the second at Route 33 and Route 19.

Two vehicles involved in the first accident, three in the second.

Bergen Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched to both accidents.

UPDATE 3:53 p.m.: At one of the accidents, a responder reported no entrapment but assistance needed in getting patients out of a vehicle.  

UPDATE 3:55 p.m.: Le Roy Ambulance requested to the Jericho Road accident.

Accident reported on Ellicott Street Road, Batavia

A truck has reportedly hit a pole on Ellicott Street Road at Shepard Road, Batavia.

Unknown injuries.

Town of Batavia Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 11:52 a.m.: There's also a truck off the road with a fuel leak on Route 63 and Little Canada Road. Bethany Fire responding.  A minor injury reported at the Shepard Road incident. 

UPDATE 11:53 a.m.: Shepard Road, no injuries. The driver is in an emergency vehicle, warming.  Low-hanging wires, none detached.

UPDATE 12:03 p.m.: Trucks can't get through because of the low-hanging wires at Shepard Road.  A single lane is open for cars.

UPDATE 12:08 p.m.: Traffic control is needed at Little Canada Road. "We're on a bend in the road here. People are flying around the curve before they see us."

Speed blamed in manure truck accident on Tuesday in Darien

Driving too fast through a curve is the likely cause of a traffic accident on Simonds Road in Darien at 1:43 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a Sheriff's Office accident report.

Charles Chesley, 52, of Varysburg, the sole occupant and driver of a 2016 Western truck, reportedly hauling manure, was entrapped in the cab of the vehicle and needed to be extricated by crews from Darien, Corfu and East Pembroke.

He was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight Central.  He is listed in "guarded" condition. At Strong, patients in the Intensive Care Unit are listed as "guarded."

No citations are listed on the accident report, which Deputy Kevin McCarthy prepared.

Manure truck rollover reported on Simonds Road, Darien

A manure truck rollover accident is reported in the area of 10067 Simonds Road, Darien.

Darien Fire, Corfu Fire and East Pembroke Fire were dispatched.

"Heavy entrapment," reported.

Law enforcement on scene requested Mercy Flight on standby.

UPDATE 1:59 p.m.: Mercy Flight Central requested to the scene.  There is a 30-minute ETA.

UPDATE 2:03 p.m.: Patient is alert.

UPDATE 2:37 p.m.: Mercy Flight is on the ground.

UPDATE 2:53 p.m.: DEC is responding though the manure spill is flowing into a field. "No waterways involved."  A heavy wrecker is canceled. The owner is apparently going to take care of moving it.

UPDATE 3:02 p.m.: The patient is being transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

Woman killed by felled tree in Alexander

A person in Alexander was killed this morning by a tree that fell on her at the WNY Gas & Steam Engine Association grounds on Gillate Road.

According to State Police, the tree was being cut down on the property and fell in the path of a 65-year-old woman.

Neighbors called 9-1-1, and the tree was removed with a tractor.

Troopers and medical staff attempted life-saving measures. 

According to State Police, the scene was consistent with with an accidental death and foul play is not suspected.

The identity of the victim is being withheld at this time.

Pedestrian struck on Pearl Street Road, Batavia

A pedestrian has reportedly been stuck in the area of 2719 Pearl Street Road, Batavia,

East Pembroke Fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 6:36 p.m.: The patient is a child. She is apparently speaking with a first responder and provided her name.

Truck, vehicle reportedly involved in Accident on Ellicott Street Road

An accident involving a semi-truck and a passenger vehicle is reported at Ellicott Street Road and Transit in Stafford.

Unknown injuries.

Stafford Fire and Bethany Fire dispatched along with Mercy EMS.

UPDATE 5:01 p.m.: The passenger vehicle involved is reportedly a sedan.  Minor injuries reported.

UPDATE 5:04 p.m.: Debris in the roadway. No travel lanes are blocked.  Fire police are being asked to flag for one lane of traffic with firefighters are on scene.

Two vehicle accident with injuries reported in Stafford

A two-vehicle accident is reported in the area of 6506 East Bethany Le Roy Road, Stafford.

Injuries are reported.

UPDATE 7:44 a.m.: A second ambulance requested to the scene. Bethany Fire's ambulance dispatched.

UPDATE 7:49 a.m.: Traffic is blocked.  Extrication required.

UPDATE 8:03 a.m.: One person transported to Strong Memorial Hospital.

UPDATE 8:21 a.m.: Road re-opened. Stafford back in service.

Wires down after rollover accident in Pavilion

Driver reportedly flees scene of accident on Lewiston Road

A driver has reportedly fled the scene after his car struck a pole in the area of 8113 Lewiston Road, Batavia.

The pole is down and wires are down.

Two people injured Thursday morning in accident on Alexander Road, Alexander

Alexander Fire, along with Mercy EMS and Attica's ambulance, responded to a two-car accident at about 8 a.m. in the area of 10799 Alexander Road.

Two people were transported to UMMC for evaluation and treatment.
