A driver pulling onto Route 98 in Alexander was struck by a northbound vehicle leading to a minor injury accident at 1:19 p.m., Tuesday, according to a Sheriff's Office accident report.

Dawn M. Meyers, 60,  of Halls Corners Road in Attica was cited for alleged failure to yield the right-of-way.  She was driving a 2019 Ford SUV.

Meyers was transported to UMMC for evaluation and treatment of minor injuries.

Robert Seymore Jr., 52, of Broadway, Darien Center, was driving a 2015 Jeep and was uninjured.  His passenger, Jennifer G. Seymore, 46, was treated at the scene for a minor injury.

Deputy Kevin McCarthy investigated the accident.

A two-vehicle head-on collision with injuries is reported in Alabama at Wright Road at Bloomingdale Road. A caller to dispatch reports a female in one vehicle states she's OK, but she may be in shock. Alabama Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medics.

A first responder on scene reports the vehicles are blocking traffic.

UPDATE 12:56 p.m.: There is one patient.

UPDATE 1:33 p.m.: The female patient was transported to a hospital. The Alabama fire assignment is back in service.

A car and motorcycle accident is reported in the area of 9732 Roanoke Road, Stafford.

No word on injuries.

Stafford Fire Department dispatched.

UPDATE 2:42 p.m.: A chief on scene reports three motorcycles in the road, none of them down, a rider is down. A dispatcher informs a deputy that the patient is conscious and alert.

UPDATE 2:44 p.m.: The patient is conscious and alert with a complaint of rib pain.

A motor-vehicle accident is reported in Basom at 1750 Judge Road. A driver who possibly suffered from a medical issue was reported to be driving erratically by several callers to dispatch.

The vehicle also struck a pole in the area before hitting the side of a semi-truck, and the trucker reacted swiftly by forcing the vehicle off the road away from oncoming traffic.

The location is between Wight Road and Kenyon Avenue. Alabama Fire Department and Mercy medics are on scene. 

A first responder reports no injuries as the result of accident. Nothing is in the roadway. The pole is sheared off; it's a cable pole at 1805 Judge Road.

Traffic control deployed.

UPDATE 2:55 p.m.: The automobile driver is being transported to UMMC for evaluation. No injuries reported due to the accident. All responders back in service.

A tractor-trailer accident is reported in the area of 7990 Oak Orchard Road, Elba.

A first responder says the truck is well off the road in a field.

No word on injuries.

A car-into-pole accident with injuries is reported in Bethany at Transit Road and Ellicott Street Road. The pole is down along with wires. Bethany Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medics.

UPDATE 3:13 p.m.: The accident is not blocking traffic, according to a first responder on scene, who also reports a Sheriff's deputy is there.

UPDATE 3:17 p.m.: There is one patient "who is not very coherent." The vehicle is in a ditch; there is no debris in the roadway.

UPDATE 3:25 p.m.: The pole is sheared in half -- "I don't even know where the bottom half is," says a first responder. A NYS Trooper is also on scene.

UPDATE 3:47 p.m.: Responders believe this accident was the result of a medical issue. Just prior to the accident, callers to the dispatch center reported a vehicle being driven erratically. It was southbound on Route 63, went off the road onto a lawn, possibly damaging a decorative pole, then back on the road and off again on the west side of the roadway. It careened over to the opposite side and landed on its wheels in a grassy area on the east.

A two-vehicle accident with possibly serious injuries is reported at Clinton Street Road (Route 33) and Griswold Road, Stafford. Stafford Fire Department is responding along with Mercy medics.

UPDATE 12:20 p.m.: There is entrapment in a vehicle. Mercy Flight #7 out of Batavia is put on ground standby.

UPDATE 12:21 p.m.: A second Mercy rig is called to the scene.

UPDATE 12:27 p.m.: Mercy Flight is dispatched to the accident site. A first responder reports the vehicles are blocking traffic and both are heavily damaged. An engine from Bergen is summoned.

UPDATE 12:31 p.m.: Mercy Flight will land on Griswold Road.

UPDATE 12:32 p.m.: Fire police are asked to shut down traffic at Route 33 and Route 237. Mercy Flight #7 is grounded due to mechanical trouble; ground transportation will be used instead. Le Roy and Bergen are both called to provide mutual aid.

UPDATE 12:40 p.m.: Traffic will be shut down at Waterman and Griswold roads. The on-call investigator is called to the scene. Le Roy's engine is rerouted to fill in at Stafford's fire hall.

UPDATE 12:43 p.m.: Bergen fire is on scene.

UPDATE 12:47 p.m.: Two investigators who belong to the county's Crash Management Team are en route.

UPDATE 12:52 p.m.: Two patients have been extricated.

UPDATE 12:57 p.m.: Mercy medics are headed to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester in emergency mode with one patient onboard.

UPDATE(S) 3:06 p.m. (By Howard): Road is reopened. All units back in service.

UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: According to the preliminary investigation by the Sheriff's Office, Ryan T. Ledermann, 17, of Webster, was driving a 2017 Honda HRV westbound on Route 33 when he attempted to pass an uninvolved tractor-trailer. The HRV left its lane of travel and entered into the eastbound lane. The Honda struck the front driver side of an oncoming 2011 Dodger Pickup driven by Charles P. Fales, 56, of Batavia.

There were no other occupants in either vehicle.

Town of Stafford Fire Department volunteers extricated Ledermann and he was transported by Mercy EMS to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Fales suffered minor injuries and was transported to Strong for evaluation and treatment.

The accident investigation is being handled by Deputy Rachel Diehl, Investigator Chris Parker, Investigator Kevin Forsyth, Sgt. Andrew Hale, and members of the Crash Management Team, including deputies Kyle Krzemien and Richard Schildwaster. Assisting at the scene were State Police, Stafford fire, and Mercy EMS.

One vehicle crashed into a guardrail and injuries are reported on Route 19 at Griswold Road, near the Thruway entrance. The roadway is completely blocked, according to a first responder on scene. The entire guardrail is off its posts, laying across both lanes.

Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding. Traffic control will be needed and DOT was notified and will call a crew out there.

UPDATE 4:47 p.m.: The guardrail has been removed from the roadway. Le Roy fire is back in service. The scene is turned over to NYS Troopers. The DOT is assembling a crew to repair the guardrail. The patient refused medical attention; Le Roy ambulance is back in service.

UPDATE 5:16 p.m.: A first responder on scene estimates about 100 feet of the guardrail is damaged.

A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported on the Thruway in the area of mile marker 395.

There are multiple callers. It may involve two semi-trucks and a passenger vehicle.

East Pembroke fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

UPDATE 8:57 a.m.: Westbound traffic is blocked. The East Pembroke chief requests that traffic be diverted at the Batavia exit.

UPDATE 8:58 a.m.: Extrication will be required according to an Indian Falls chief who responded. Confirmed, two tractor-trailers, possibly a car.

UPDATE: One person was transported by ground ambulance to ECMC with a possible serious injury.

A person is reporting head and chest pain following a two-car accident at Ellicott and Jackson streets in Batavia.

City fire is on scene.

UPDATE 7:33 p.m.: A patient is being transported to UMMC.

A car has crashed into a tree in Oakfield at the Depew Rod & Gun Club, 6067 Fisher Road. There are possibly two people injured. Oakfield Fire Department is responding along Mercy medics. The location is between Albion and Lockport roads.

A third-party caller reported one person was outside the vehicle and attending to someone still inside it.

UPDATE 2:27 p.m.: Command reports there's a tree in the middle of the roadway. Fire police are on scene and instructed to slow traffic down near the curve.

UPDATE 2:29 p.m.: A 35-year-old male complains of bruising around his ribs; medics are told to continue to the scene in emergency mode.

UPDATE 2:32 p.m.: A female still inside the vehicle "is possibly a sign-off but she does want to be checked out."

UPDATE 2:50 p.m.: The male patient is being transported to Erie County Medical Center by Byron ambulance with Mercy medics' Squad 1 on board.

UPDATE 2:51 p.m.: The Elba fire assignment is back in service.

An apparent serious injury accident is reported in the area of 8251 W. Bergen Road, Le Roy.

Le Roy fire and Pavilion fire dispatched.

Traffic is shut down between Randall Road and Selden Road.

UPDATE(S) (By Billie) 5:01 p.m.: A Mercy medic unit that was also dispatched to the scene is put back in service.

UPDATE 5:04 p.m.: Two vehicles are involved and two tows are requested to the scene.

UPDATE 5:41 p.m.: The road is reopened.

UPDATE 6:11 p.m.: Troopers responded to a two-vehicle accident on West Bergen Road in the Town of Le Roy. Preliminary investigation reveals that a Chevy Monte Carlo traveling northbound lost control and crossed into the southbound lane, and was T-boned by a Ford pickup truck. After extrication, the Monte Carlo operator was taken via ambulance to Strong Memorial Hospital in critical condition. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle on Harvester Avenue.

The patient is complaining of leg pain.

City fire and Mercy EMS responded and a short time later, Engine 11 went back in service.

A car vs. deer accident with injuries is reported in Le Roy on Lake Street (Route 19) in the area of North Road. The vehicle involved is a black Chervolet Equinox. Le Roy fire and ambulance are responding.

UPDATE 7:02 a.m.: A first responder says the accident is just north of the intersection of Lake Street and North Road, and that there was air bag deployment.

UPDATE 7:05 a.m.: Injuries are minor. Fluids are leaking from the vehicle.

UPDATE 7:14 a.m.: Law enforcement is en route.

UPDATE 7:22 a.m.: Le Roy fire is back in service.

A one-vehicle accident is reported in the area of 1007 Francis Road, Bethany.

A utility pole was struck and wires are down.

A female occupant attempted to exit the vehicle and the caller advised the woman to say in the vehicle because of the possibility of live electrical wires. It's unknown if there are other occupants in the vehicle.

Bethany fire and Mercy EMS dispatched.

Francis Road is being closed to through traffic.

UPDATE 10:37 a.m.: A chief on scene reports a pole in the road, live wires down, and asks National Grid to expedite its response. No ETA.

A motor-vehicle accident is reported on Route 77 in front of the Flying-J.

Unknown injuries.

There is reportedly a post-accident verbal altercation in progress.

Pembroke and Indian Falls fire departments dispatched along with Mercy EMS.

A two-car accident with injuries is reported at 3542 W. Main Street Road, Batavia. East Pembroke Fire Department and Mercy medics are responding along with law enforcement. The location is between Kelsey Road and County Building #2.

UPDATE 2:24 p.m.: All lanes of traffic are blocked, according to a first responder on scene.

UPDATE 2:26 p.m.: "It looks like a car rear-ended a truck," says a first responder. "The lady in the truck is hyperventilating; no injuries in the car."

UPDATE 3:01 p.m.: The roadway is clear. The East Pembroke assignment is back in service.

A motor-vehicle accident with minor injuries that is partially blocking traffic is reported at 1677 Main Road in Pembroke. There are two patients complaining of back, neck and knee pain. Mercy medics and East Pembroke fire are responding. A second ambulance is requested to the scene, which is located between Boyce and Cleveland roads.

The initial call for an accident on Fotch Road in Batavia indicated a driver was unconscious and not breathing but shortly after first-responders arrived, the man was awake and alert.

By that time, Mercy Flight was already on the ground. 

The driver, the sole occupant of the pickup truck, did not require further medical attention.

After medics finished with him by the side of his vehicle, sitting on its wheels in a field of soybeans, the driver accompanied a deputy back to the roadway and upon reaching the shoulder he told the deputy, "I don't even know where I am."

Following a field sobriety test, the driver was taken into custody.

The Sheriff's Office is expected to release a report later tonight or in the morning with further information.

UPDATE 9:40 p.m.: In the accident report, the driver is identified as James M. Caccamise, 31, of Byron. He was driving a 1999 GMC pickup owned by Phyllis J. Caccamise. According to the report, Caccamise was northbound on Fotch Road when he failed to negotiate a curve in the road and struck a road sign before heading over an embankment. Charges are pending an investigation and the results of a blood test, but the report indicated deputies believe Caccamise was under the influence of a narcotic analgesic. The accident was investigated by Deputy Eric Andre.

A possible serious injury accident is reported at 7789 Fotch Road, Batavia. A man is said to be unconscious, slumped over the wheel, trying to breathe, according to a first responder on scene. Mercy Flight in Batavia is called to the scene.

The accident site is at a sharp curve between Byron Road and Batavia-Stafford Townline Road, in Stafford's fire district.

UPDATE 3:49 p.m.: The Genesee County Crash Management Team is called to respond. A first responder reports to dispatch that a pickup truck rolled over and went off the roadway about 20 yards and the driver and sole occupant is unresponsive.

UPDATE 3:52 p.m.: Mercy Flight is instructed to land in a soybean field.

UPDATE 3:53 p.m.: Mercy Flight has landed.

UPDATE 4:08 p.m.: Mercy Flight is back in service along with Stafford fire and the scene is turned over to law enforcement.

UPDATE 4:26 p.m.: The male driver regained consciousness once medics were on scene. He suffered no apparent injuries. After field sobriety testing, he was taken into custody. He told a deputy "I don't even know where I am."
