A section of roof has blown off a barn and into a telephone pole at 1083 Transit Road.

The section of roof is tangled up in the wires. The pole snapped.

Pavilion Fire Department is dispatched.

UPDATE 10:51 a.m.: Traffic is being shut down at Sheppard and Transit. The pole is broken and leaning toward the roadway, but is not completely sheared off.

UPDATE 11:10 a.m.: The roadway is being reopened. Pavilion Fire Department is leaving the scene. The farm workers are working to clear away the portion of the barn roof. Apparently, the wires are not a safety hazard.

Joshua Edward Krzemien, 24, of Portageville Road, Castile, is charged with criminal obstruction of breathing. Krzemien is accused putting another person in a head lock, obstructing the person's breathing, during a domestic incident on Ellicott Street Road, Pavilion, at 9:40 p.m., Tuesday.

Sarah Jean Nugent, 25, of Ellicott Street Road, Pavilion, is charged with criminal mischief. Nugent is accused of breaking the mobile phone of another person during a domestic incident on Ellicott Street Road, Pavilion, at 9:40 p.m., Tuesday.

A 16-year-old from Three Rod Road, Marilla, is charged with trespass. The youth, along with three others, are accused of being on property at 400 Seven Day Road, Darien, without permission. Also charged with trespass were three youths from Alden: a 17-year-old, of Emerson Street; a 17-year-old, of West Drive; and Steven Anthony Jasinowski, 18, of Kellogg Street.

A roof is apparently blowing off an apartment building at 10980 Starr Road, Pavilion.

Pavilion Fire Department being dispatched.

UPDATE 10:22 a.m.: The building is being evacuated.

UPDATE 10:23 a.m.: A code inspector on scene advises it's just shingles blowing off. The decking is intact and no electrical wires are involved.

UPDATE 10:26 a.m.: An assistant chief on scene reports just sheeting coming off the roof. All Pavilion equipment held in the hall.

UPDATE 10:30 a.m.: Pavilion back in service.

A possible truck fire is reported near the juncture of routes 19 and 63. Pavilion Fire Department is responding. Traffic control is requested.

UPDATE 1:36 p.m.: "What we have here is a blown turbo," says a responder. It's been "shut off." They are holding the assignment to one engine, nonemergency mode. But traffic control is still necessary. They are asking for some "speedy dry."

The  second driver involved in yesterday's fatal head-on collision on West Main Street Road, Batavia, remains in guarded condition at Strong Memorial Hospital.

Angelo A. Merica III, 27, of Pavilion, was westbound on Route 5 when his car was struck by an eastbound car driven by Jonathan M. Colby, 37, of Tracy Avenue, Batavia. Colby was pronounced dead at the scene.

At Strong, a patient in the intensive care unit (ICU) is listed as as "guarded."

While investigators have determined that Colby's car made a slow, steady drift into the oncoming lane, what hasn't been determined is why Colby's car drifted.

Colby had recently been working overnight shifts at Lowe's and may have been fatigued at the time of the crash.

Colby, a Muckdogs fan and involved in community theater, was married and the father of a 7-year-old girl.

Mighty winds have toppled a large tree and it's blocking the roadway at Wyoming Road and Route 19 in Covington, which is part of Pavilion Fire Department's district. Live wires are also down.

Pavilion Fire Department is responding.

Power is out in the vicinity.

"There are lines (down) everywhere," says a responder.

The "four corners" intersection lights aren't working. State Troopers have shut down southbound Route 19 at Route 63 in Pavilion.

Traffic on Route 19 is to be closed to traffic by Wyoming and Crossman roads. Law enforcement is helping direct traffic.

National Grid has been notified. No ETA given.

UPDATE 5 p.m.: Southbound Route 19 is reopened to traffic.

Yesterday, the weather forecast for this morning sounded promising for photography, so my morning plan was to get out early and see what pictures I could take. There weren't many clouds nor much low-lying fog, but once out, might as well snap a few frames.

A tree has reportedly fallen on a 17-year-old boy in the woods located off 7007 Big Tree Road (Route 63), Pavilion.

Mercy Flight was contacted and says its unable to fly due to high winds.

The youth is conscious and semi-alert and has head and chest injuries.

Pavilion Fire Department and Mercy Medics are responding.

James Kenneth Goodenow, 40, of South Academy Street, Wyoming, is charged with petit larceny. Goodenow is accused of shoplifting from a store on Lewiston Road, Batavia. He was jailed on $500 bail.

Brian Thomas Kerwin, 23, of Country Lane, Geneseo, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Kerwin was charged following a traffic stop at 6:09 p.m. Wednesday on Route 19, Le Roy, by Deputy Joseph Graff.

Nicholas Shawn Andrews, 32, South Lake Road, Pavilion, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Andrews was was charged following a traffic stop at 6:09 p.m. Wednesday on Route 19, Le Roy, by Deputy Joseph Graff.

Lucas Daniel Allen, 20, of Horsehoe Lake Road, Batavia, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Allen was charged following a traffic stop at 10:07 p.m. March 30 on Caswell Road, Byron, by Deputy Joseph Graff.

Mitchell Andrew Cummings, 19, of Byron Road, Batavia, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Cummings was charged following a traffic stop at 10:07 p.m. March 30 on Caswell Road, Byron, by Deputy Joseph Graff.

Carrie Ann Rucinski, 25, of West Avenue, Medina, is charged with petit larceny. Rucinski is accused of shoplifting six items from Kmart on Tuesday.

A motor-vehicle accident with injuries is reported at Route 20 and South Street Road in Pavilion.

Pavilion Fire Department, Mercy medics and Le Roy Ambulance are responding. Mercy Flight is on standby.

UPDATE 4:17 p.m.: There are two vehicles involved and two injuries reported. Mercy Flight is canceled.

UPDATE 4:19 p.m.: The two drivers are women who appear to have sustained superficial injuries.

UPDATE 4:30 p.m.: A third ambulance is called to the scene in nonemergency mode. No reason given.

There's a horse on the loose in the area of 1467 Roanoke Road, near the junction of Route 63 in Pavilion. A person there is trying to keep it from going into the roadway.

A Sheriff's deputy is en route, but first must make a stop at the animal shelter for a rabies shot, presumably for an animal.

UPDATE 1:40 p.m.: The horse, which is brown, and possibly a second horse, are said to be contained behind a fence now. The owner could not be reached.

A two-car accident with a minor injury has been reported at the intersection of Walker Road and South Street Road, Pavilion.

A responder requested that Monroe County Water Authority be notified that a fire hydrant was struck.

UPDATE 10:10 a.m.: A Pavilion firefighter on scene: "Slow everybody down, non-emergency. It's going to be a sign-off" (meaning very minor injuries, no ambulance transport).

A pair of brothers from Pavilion are being accused of dealing cocaine and were arraigned in Pavilion Town Court on Tuesday following their arrest by Deputy Brian Thompson.

Cocaine, marijuana and fireworks were allegedly found in their Ellicott Road home.

The brothers are David James (name redacted upon request) (top, right), 21, and (name redacted upon request) (bottom, left), 20.

Both were charged with criminal possession of a narcotic with intent to sell and criminal possession of marijuana, 4th, as well as unlawful dealing with fireworks.

Following their arraignment, they were released under supervision of Genesee Justice.

LeeAnna M. Kiefer, 18, of Transit Road, East Bethany, is charged with harassment, 2nd. Kiefer is accused of being involved in an incident on Big Tree Road in Pavilion where she allegedly punched another person in the head and face.

Stephanie Marie Macchia, 33, of Munzel Road, Medina, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. Macchia was involved in a traffic stop by Deputy Patrick Reeves at 11:57 p.m., Friday, on Route 77 in Pembroke, and found to allegedly be in possession of marijuana.

A 16-year-old resident of Sparks Road, Pavilion, is charged with petit larceny. The youth is accused of shoplifting from Kmart on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old resident of Wyoming Road, Wyoming, is charged with petit larceny. The youth is accused of shoplifting from Kmart on Tuesday.

A 17-year-old resident of Black Street Road, Le Roy, is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. K-9 "Pharoah," handled by Deputy Brian Thompson, alerted on a car parked in the East Park Street area of Pavilion. After an interview with the driver, Thompson allegedly found a small quantity of suspected marijuana and three pipes with suspected marijuana residue.
