Philip J. "Uncle Phil" Rodon

Philip J. “Uncle Phil” Rodon, 75 of Batavia, passed away on Friday (April 24, 2015) at Buffalo General Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.
 
He was born March 17, 1940 in Batavia, NY, a son of the late Leo and Joan Helen Stawski Rodon.
 
Phil was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served his country from 1963-1965.  He was employed by American Stone Mix in Batavia for over 25 years, retiring November of 1994. He was also was a bartender at Kelly’s Holland Inn in Batavia for several years. Philly was a member of the Polish Falcons Nest in Batavia, carrying on the honorable tradition of his father and was also a member of the Polish Falcons Civic Club. His dedication as a member was proven in December 2010, when he was awarded the Gold Legion Cross of the Polish Falcons Legion of Honor.
 
Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Kathleen (Todd) Bender of Batavia. Son and daughter in-law, Bradley (Shelly) Rodon of Warsaw. Grandchildren, Ryan Philip, Lindsey and Evan Bender of Batavia, Ryan James, Marlee and Tyler Stroud and Brittany Rodon, all of Warsaw.  Nephew, Scott (Sandie) Rodon of Batavia. Niece, Susan (Jeff) Godfrey of Arkansas.
 
He was the brother of the late Gerald (Clarice Ann) Rodon.
 
Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Thursday (April 30th) from 4-8pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERAL HOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia, where a funeral service will be Friday at 11:00am.  Burial with full military honors will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.
