Paul R. "Goofy" Rice

Paul R. "Goofy" Rice, age 66, of Silver Lake, died on Saturday March 21, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Paul was born in Warsaw, NY on February 4, 1949 a son of the late Thomas Rice  andFlorence Irwin Rice of Perry. He is preceded in death by a brother  Tommy Rice, Sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Mike Laraby and brother-in-law  Bob Shepard.

Paul was a graduate of Perry High School. He retired from Consolidated Gas (Dominion Gas) in Silver Springs. He served with the US Air Force. He was a member of the Silver Lake Sportsman’s Club, Perry Vets Club, Perry VFW, lifetime member of the Bliss American Legion Post #1720, and was a former member of the Perry Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and collecting American Indian memorabilia. Paul was also a sun enthusiast.

He is survived by a daughter Amber (A.J.) Koronas of Perry; 2 sons Timothy and Thomas Rice both of Perry; mother Florence Rice of Perry; sister Linda Shepard of Perry; 3 brothers Jeff (Mary) Rice of Silver Lake, Steve (Polly) Rice of Leicester and Brian (Lee) Rice of Perry; 4 grandchildren Taylor Rice, Logan, Tessa and Fiona Koronas along with several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday March 25th at Glenwood Cemetery in Perry. He will be laid to rest in Glenwood Cemetery in Perry.
