Montagu J. Andrews, Jr.

Montagu J. Andrews, Jr. "Monty", 81 of Batavia, departed this world peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2015, as a resident of the Genesee County Nursing Home. 
 
He was born in Pavilion, NY on July 11, 1933, a son of the late Montagu J. and Teresa Aquino Andrews. 
 
Monty was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War.  He was employed by the former Batavia Times on Center St., the proprietor of the former Genesee Liquor Store on E. Main St. in Batavia, and as a security guard at the Genesee County Nursing Home prior to his retirement. 
 
He was an avid gun collector and a proud member of the N.R.A., he enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. Monty was also an active life time member of the former Saint Nicholas Club. 
 
He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Ratulowski Andrews of Batavia and their four children, Montagu Scott (Margie) Andrews of Virginia Beach, VA, Debbie (David) Olivani of Mesa, AZ, Mindy Andrews of Batavia, and Mark (Tina) Andrews of Slatington, PA and seven grandchildren Sara Olivani, Desiree Janiga, Michael Andrews, Autumn Janiga, Emily Olivani, Mary Olivani, and Melecia Andrews.  Monty is also survived by his brother, Gordon (Barbara) Andrews of Oklahoma City, OK and sister, Shirley Wallace of Rochester, NY as well as nieces and nephews. 
 
Family and friends are cordially invited to share thoughts, condolences and fond memories on Tuesday, March 3rd from 3-7pm at the J. LEONARD MCANDREW FUNERALHOME, LLC, 2 Bogue Ave., Batavia.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, March 4th at 12pm noon at Resurrection Parish, 303 E. Main St., Batavia, where full military honors will follow. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
