Angela R. Ilasi

Angela R. Ilasi, 100 of Batavia, passed away Wednesday January 21, 2015 at Rochester General Hospital. She was born November 8, 1914 in Chicago, IL to the late Salvatore (Carmella Fuscaldo) Chereso. Mrs. Ilasi is preceded in death by her beloved husband Dr. Frank P. Ilasi in 1992; son and daughter-in-law Steven (Elaine) Ilasi; son-in-law John S. Iannello; great-granddaughter Coraline Iannello; brothers Freddy, Jimmy, Frank, Charlie and Mike Chereso; sisters Mary Contino and Rose Taylor.

Mrs. Ilasi was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish, Women’s Christian Group and NARFE. She participated in many events at the Manor House especially bowling, dancing and art. Angela loved to entertain and she was an excellent cook.

Mrs. Ilasi is survived by her sons Nicholas (Connie) Ilasi of Batavia; Salvatore Ilasi of Los Angeles; daughter Immaculata Iannello of Batavia; grandchildren Michael Ilasi, Nicole (Joseph) Lambert, Rose Ilasi, John F. and Joseph Iannello, Priscilla and Angela Ilasi, great-grandchildren Grace and Rae Iannello, along with many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call from 1-4 PM Sunday January 25, 2015 at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 333 West Main Street, Batavia, NY. Prayers will be recited 9:00 AM on Monday January 26, 2015 at the Funeral Home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s Church) 18 Ellicott Street Batavia, New York 14020. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
