Ann L. Pirro

Ann L. Pirro, 98, of Batavia passed away Sunday December 28, 2014 at United Memorial Medical Center. She was born on August 6, 1916 in Lawrence, MA to the late Angelo (Lucia Pappalardo) Borzi. She is preceded in death by her husband Norfe J. Pirro; sons Salvatore J. Pirro, Thomas D. Pirro and her brother Tony Borzi.

Ann worked as a Maternity Nurse’s Aide at St. Jerome’s Hospital prior to retirement. She was a member of Ascension Parish and Focal Point Member. Ann enjoyed her time at St. Elizabeth Gardens in Florida, crocheting, ceramics, and playing bingo.  She was an excellent cook, and loved shopping for gifts for her family.

Ann is survived by her children Lucy A. Pirro of Corona, CA; David N. (Donna) Pirro of Eustis, FL; Diane L. Calarco of Pompano Beach, FL; Mark S. Pirro of Van Nuys, CA; sisters Mary Meleca of Batavia; Josephine (Jack) Gianni of FL, Rose Marie Borzi of MA; 15 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday January 2, 2015 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main St. Batavia New York. An 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday January 3, 2015 at Ascension Parish 15 Sumner Street Batavia, New York 14020. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph’s Mausoleum.
