Shirley M. Maniaci

Shirley M. Maniaci, 72, of Batavia passed away on Sunday October 19, 2014 at Genesee County Nursing Home. She was born on March 23, 1942 in Batavia to the late Gasper (Mary LoCicero) Di Piazza. She is preceded in death by a son Mark Anthony Maniaci and a sister Annette Riganotti. 

Mrs. Maniaci was a resident of the Genesee County Nursing Home for the last 8 years. She worked as a Lunch Aide at Robert Morris Elementary for 20 years and was a wonderful homemaker. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff at Genesee County Nursing Home; Lake Plains Dialysis and to Unity Health.

Shirley is survived by her beloved husband of 43 years Leonardo Maniaci of Batavia; sons Frank (Michele) Maniaci of Batavia; Joseph (Kelly) Maniaci of Buffalo; daughter Angie Maniaci of Batavia; 4 grandchildren Nicolette Maniaci of E. Bethany; Frank Maniaci, Amanda and Alexis Balduf; sister Connie (Giulio) LaMila all of Batavia; brother Frank Di Piazza of Rochester; brother-in-law Frank Riganotti of Batavia, along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday October 22, 2014 from 2 to 6 PM at Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc. 329-333 West Main Street Batavia, New York 14020. Prayers will be recited 9:00 AM on Thursday October 23, 2014 at the Funeral Home followed by a 9:30 AM Mass of Christian Burial at Resurrection Parish 18 Ellicott St. Batavia, NY 14020. She will be laid to rest in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
