Frank J. Rubino

Bergen / LeRoy ~  Frank J. Rubino, age 85, of 21 Meadows Way, Bergen NY passed away late Saturday evening (October 18, 2014) in the loving presence of his family at United Memorial Medical Center in Batavia.

    

Mr. Rubino was born March 20, 1929 in Batavia, a son of the late Ignazio and Rosalia O'Geen Rubino.

     He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother, who was devoted to his family.  He grew up working in the Rubino family stores prior to enlisting with the US Army, where he served in the Medical Corp during the Korean War.  He established his own business, Frank's Place, in LeRoy, which he ran for 20 years.  He was an avid bowler and golfer, and enjoyed playing cards, watching his LA Dodgers and taking his annual trips to Las Vegas.

     He is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Patricia Luce Rubino; his children, Francine (Bill) Moore of Ft. Wayne, IN and James (Cindy Young) Rubino of Blue Springs, MO; his step-children, Tammi (Frank) Conte of LeRoy, Julie (Robert) Cutcliffe of Corfu and David (Connie) Harper of LeRoy; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; his sisters, Connie (late Savie) Capuano of Batavia and Sarah (Ronald) Dusing of Rochester; mother-in-law, Josephine Luce of Bergen; sister-in-law, Alice Rubino of LeRoy; brother-in-law, Earl (Laura) Luce of Brockport, along with many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

     He was predeceased by a sister, Rosemarie Gervase and a brother, Augustine Rubino.

     Family and friends may call on Wednesday from 4 ~ 8 P.M. at the Falcone Family Funeral & Cremation Service Inc., 8700 Lake Road (Rt. 19 north), LeRoy.  His Rite of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mercy Parish, St. Joseph's Oratory, 27 Lake Street, LeRoy, with interment to follow in St. Francis Cemetery.

     The courtesy of no flowers is requested with memorial contributions suggested to either the family or to a charity of the donor's choice.
