RICHARD H. DILLON

Batavia - Mr. Richard H. Dillon, 89, of Batavia, a former foreman for Scalia’s Landscaping in Batavia, passed away on Monday, August 25, 2014 at New York State Veteran's Home.

Mr. Dillon was born April 28, 1925 in Albion, a son of the late Henry Joseph and Harriett Jedrzejewski Dillon. A member of Sacred Heart Church and the VFW Post No. 1602 and proudly served his country during World War II with the United States Navy.

His wife, Mary Reilly Dillon passed away in 1993.

Survivors include his children, Richard D. Dillon, Linda (William F.) McBride and Lori Johnston, all of Batavia; his son-in-law, Kenneth Blank of Barre; seven grandchildren, Christine (Robert) Hill of Rochester, William C. (Joelle) McBride of Spangdahlem AFB, Germany, Aubrey (Kasie) Way of Rochester, Caitlyn Johnston of Buffalo, Stephen, Michael and Gregory Blank, all of Barre; four great-grandchildren Alexis and Aiden Hill of Rochester, Alex McBride of Germany and Liam Way of Rochester; his sister, Margaret Koneski of Medina and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was the father of the late Melanie Blank who died in 2000 and brother of the late Henry R., Gordon, Eleanor and Donald Dillon.

Friends are invited to call on Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Bohm-Calarco-Smith Funeral Home, 308 East Main Street, Batavia where services will follow at 7 p.m. Graveside services, with full military honors, will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Ellicott Street, Batavia.
