Josephine Boldt

Elba - Josephine Boldt, 76, of Elba, passed away Monday, (April 22, 2013) at Strong Memorial Hospital, in Rochester, following a brief illness.

Mrs. Boldt was born August 19, 1936 in Geneva, a daughter of the late Antonio and Carmella (Picone) DiAntonio.

Josephine was a member of St. Padre Pio Parish - Our Lady of Fatima Worship Site as well as the Elba Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and was a good Christian.  She loved cooking; especially canning, and took great pleasure in gardening and feeding the birds.

She is the wife of Eugene Boldt, of Elba, whom she married July 19, 2003.

Surviving along with her husband are her children, Michael (Deborah) Gualtieri of LeRoy, Donna (John) Crowley of Albany, and John Gualtieri of Farmington; step-children, Dennis (Linda) Boldt of Medina, Douglas Boldt of Batavia, Diane (Jim) Snyder of Elba, and Gary (Diane) Boldt of Elba; a sister, Sarah (Eugene) Evangelista of Geneva.  16 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mrs. Boldt is preceded in death by her first husband, Donato Gualtieri, who passed away in 1999 and her siblings, Angelo (late Clara) DiAntonio and Mary (late Salvatore) Nardozzi.   

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at H.E. Turner & Co. Funeral Home, 403 East Main Street, Batavia.  Josephine’s Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday (April 25, 2013) at St. Padre Pio Parish - Our Lady Of Fatima Worship Site, 65 South Main St., Elba.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Palliative Care Program - Office of Advancement at Strong Memorial Hospital, PO Box 278996, 300 E. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Batavia.
