Melissa A. Murphy

Melissa was born October 17, 1949 in Warsaw, New York. Daughter of the late Crandall and Harriett Clark DeGroff. Melissa worked for over 13 years for McClurg Chrysler-Dodge-Jeep in Perry where she was a their secretary/receptionist/title clerk. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Perry, a Jr. Star (Order of Eastern Star) in Perry, a former Girl Scout leader, and a loving and caring fulltime mother/grandmother. She enjoyed snowmobiling, NASCAR racing, gardening, ceramics, sewing, crocheting, counted cross stitch, and traveling with her husband, children, and grandchildren especially to Old Forge. She is preceded in death by mother and father in-law Frank and Marian Murphy.

She is survived by her husband Dennis Murphy Sr. whom she married on November 11, 1967. Two daughters Patricia (Wesley) James of Perry, Michelle (Daniel) deLeeuw of Avon, son Dennis Murphy Jr. of Perry, brother Ronald (Barbara) DeGroff of Webster, 6 Grandchildren Samantha , Matthew, and Timothy James, Miranda, Zachary, and Alexis deLeeuw, Brother-in-law: Terry (Diane) Murphy of Perry, 5 nieces and nephews Debbie Stojanov, Christopher DeGroff, and Laurie Loveless, Ryan and Megan Murphy,along with herdogs Maggie and Tippie.
 

Friends are invited to call on Thursday November 18th from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the Eaton-Watson Funeral Home, LLC. 98 North Main St. Perry, NY 14530. Services will follow calling hours 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home.
