Jacquelyn B. Dawson

Jacquelyn B. Dawson, 65, of Batavia, NY, died September 14, 2010 in Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Born December 6, 1944 in Key West Florida. Daughter of the late Joseph (Doris Voorhees) Benty. Mrs. Dawson was retired from the Genesee County Courthouse where she worked as a legal secretary.  She was a member of Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s), the Red Hat Society and the Christian Women’s Club. 

She is survived by her Fiancé James Galvin of Batavia, son Michael W. Dawson of Batavia, daughter Michelle L. (Mark) Mistretta of Rochester. Brother David (Sharon) Benty of Oakfield, sisters Patricia Lowder of Oakfield and Tina (Gregg) Wolff of Batavia, 2 granchildren Terrell Bloom and David Mistretta, one great grandson Jonah Elsenheimer who survive along with several nieces and nephews. 

Calling hours will be held on Friday September 17, 2010 from 4 to 8 PM at the Gilmartin Funeral Home & Cremation Company, Inc., 329-333 West Main Street, Batavia, New York 14020. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday September 18, 2010 at 12 Noon at Resurrection Parish (St. Mary’s site) 18 Ellicott Street, Batavia, New York. Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
