    The Master Maintenance Tech is responsible for supporting plant PLC’s, HMI's, instrumentation and other electronics. This day shift position reports to the Maintenance Manager and works closely with the Production Shift Supervisors in accomplishing routine objectives & comprehensive goals in a 24/7 shift operation.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    - Strong working knowledge of trade specific codes, policies, and best practices for a variety of disciplines including electrical, HVAC, chemical handling is required.
    - Program and support existing Allen Bradley PLC software platform (RS Logix 5000) and assist in making modifications/improvements in these systems.
    - Knowledgeable in related operations, maintenance, startup and/or commissioning and construction practices requiring skills to read equipment and facility schematics.
    - Will work in receiving area when not performing maintenance functions.
    - This position is on call 24/7 and will be required to answer and troubleshoot technical issues after normal business hours.
    - Adhere to all DFA Quality policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.

    Requirements:

    This position must be able to hook up and unload tankers in a timely fashion, run quality tests on milk, CIP tankers including hook ups as well as chemical tests. The receiver must be able to load out cream and perform all quality tests. Other duties include completing master sanitation and CIP of all raw and cream silos.

    Duties and Responsibilities:
    - Unload tankers.
    - Tankers must be unloaded safely and properly while achieving minimum established targets.
    - CIP tankers and silos.
    - Properly CIP silos and tankers maintaining time management of silos and all associated documentation.
    - Load out cream. Load out cream while achieving all quality and customer requirements.
    - Complete master sanitation.
    - Completion of all master sanitation and maintaining a clean and professional environment.
    - Control loss.
    - Actively seek causes and solutions to limit product losses.
    - Follow and promote all plant and regulatory policies and procedures.
    - Ensure all GMP, HACCP, safety and all plant, documentation and regulatory policies and procedures are complied with in the receiving area.
    - Inspection of Raw Materials.

    Requirements:

    - High school diploma or GED
    - 1+ year of manufacturing/production experience
    - Must have good communication skills, both oral and written
    - Must be able to communicate in English, both verbally and writing, well enough to prepare and comprehend evaporator logs, master sanitation schedule and fellow employees
    - Must be able to perform routine machine adjustments

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Laboratory Responsibilities:
    - Maintain laboratory and associated areas in an orderly and clean manner.

    - Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological testing of in-process and finished products.

    Quality Program Responsibilities:
    - Become familiar with the FDA Good Manufacturing Practices and Pasteurized Milk Ordinance requirements for plant and laboratory operation.
    - Follow all DFA GMP’s in a manner consistent with all corporate regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements.
    - Aseptically complete weekly environmental surveillance sampling for Salmonella and Listeria per Corporate QA & C program. Submit samples to Chestnut Labs for analysis. Manage documentation for program. Communicate weekly with management.
    - Complete weekly food contact sampling via Redi-swabs and ATP Submit Redi-swab samples to Goshen for analysis. Manage documentation for program. Communicate weekly with Quality Manager.
    - Complete monthly Air Monitoring sampling and manage documentation for program. Request air plates from Goshen QC Lab on a monthly basis. Communicate monthly with Quality Manager.
    - Organize and perform data entry of PEM program COA’s, Finished goods – powder results of COA’s micro results and other records as requested on SAP system.
    - Support Quality Plan Requirements, and HACCP Program, assist in the monitoring of CQP‘s in facility. Report to QA Manager.
    - Demonstrate sound judgment in safeguarding customer, company, and vendor and employee information.
    - Responsible for the attainment of plant goals and objectives.
    - Maintain a cooperative working relationship with customers, vendors, employees and peers.
    - Perform other duties as assigned.

     

    Requirements:

    - High School Diploma or GED, required.
    - 2-4 year applied science degree in food science, dairy science or applied discipline, preferred.
    - 1 year minimum of food or pharmaceutical manufacturing quality assurance or laboratory experience.
    - Ability to learn and apply Good Manufacturing Practices, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance program, and Laboratory Best Practices to daily job performance.
    - Working knowledge of personal computer and Microsoft Office software.
    - Good record keeping skills, manage task completion to a defined timeline, demonstrate ability to complete analyses and documentation with accuracy.
    - Must be able to use plant equipment, laboratory apparatus and office automation equipment.
    - Firmly adheres to the values and ethics of Dairy Farmers of America.
