I agree Mardell, it never ceases to amaze me, the little tidbits about our own backyard that I never knew.

Daybreak at Pcionek's woods

Claudia spotted this whitetail along the edge of an Oakfield woodlot...with the rut kicking into high gear the bucks have been on the move.

Vestige of October's foliage

This ringneck pheasant was sauntering along the side of the road and stopped long enough for Claudia to take its picture before hightailing it into dense cover.

A hardwoods and spent milkweed pods separated by a foggy shroud

Clouds reflected on a small stream

Redtail hawk surveying its domain

We came across this historic marker on West Barre Road.

Thanks, Mardell...... Rev. Frey's grave is in the West Barre cemetery, just a stone's throw north of the marker.
That was my first thought as well, Mardell. Did not know that. I can learn something new every day if I try. And on the days I don't try, I have Jim Nigro. Thanks for that one Jim. BTW I always look forward to your contributions and photos, keep 'em coming!
Thanks, Dave....the natural world is filled with wonder ...........Ps. 24:1
Awesome pictures Jim, some of your best yet. Great looking buck there, wish he would mozy on over towards where i've been hunting. Havent seen many antlers this year. This looked like a nice Sunday drive.
Thanks, Ange....hope you & Kristin enjoyed your honeymoon and hope to see you soon.

Very nice, Jim! I like how you & Claudia do this together ~ teamwork. Very interesting "KUM BA YAH" marker. Is he actually buried there? Learn something new every day!
