Today's Poll: Would you like to see Jeb Bush run for president?

By Howard B. Owens

Some Democracy we have here! 20 of the last 28 Years we have had a Bush or a Clinton as President. Now we are looking at a Bush running against a Clinton again. Perhaps Hillary wins for 8 and then a Bush (Jeb or George P.) emerges for 8. We'd be approaching half a century governed by 2 families. This is a very real possibility.

Oligarchy Much?

We need More Independents running and getting elected! The 2 party system is too divisive and holds America back. The civility and breadth of our Politics determines our progress. Not so civil at the moment. The pool of candidates says not so broad.

Marc - don't forget about Chelsie... ;-)

As much as I admire the good work the Clintons have done, and as much as I admire the man GHW Bush (maybe not his polices, but the individual), Marc has a damn good point.

On top of that, I used to hold Jeb Bush in decent, if not high, regard... Until the Terry Schiavo fiasco. Once he fell lock-step in with the christianist of the far and lunatic right, that regard was lost.

WE REALLY NEED TO THROW OFF THE TWO PARTY SYSTEM STRANGLEHOLD.

I always vote, I always have since becoming old enough [1969]. But 35 years ago I started feeling that we really don't get to vote for anyone we really want. The party goons decide who is going to be their candidate, then we peeons can pick between the GOP's guber or the Dem's gomer. Well I decided to get involved with the 3rd party movement and have voted Conservative, Libertarian, Independent, Constitutional, etc exclusively for the past 25 years. Know what? NOT ONE of the candidates I've voted for in those 25 years has been elected. I suppose I can take consolation in the fact that I voted for Ron Paul for President on the Libertarian line and though he didn't win then, he has won office as US Congressman for a total of 23 years. But I was not in his district and besides he ran as a Republican for those wins. I also can take credit for supporting Jesse Ventura who became Gov of MN on the Independent party line [Not to be confused with Independence Party... in fact I was registered to vote as an Independent and remained thus until 2008 when I switched to Republican solely to vote for Ron Paul in the GOP primary].

My disenchantment with our political system has become so great that the only reason I haven't stopped voting is because this is exactly what the controllers want the "thinking" people to do. All the rest they easily mind control into embracing the two finalist [Republican vs Democrat] as absolutely the best qualified for the job. Fools!!!
