The last I knew, smokers paid a hell of a lot of sin taxes for their habit. Shouldn't that tax money be set aside to pay for the extra health care that smokers "might" incur?

With the permission of the Business Improvement District, Reality Check Students (a Genesee-Orleans County Youth Bureau program) decorated pumpkins to include in Halloween displays Downtown with facts about smoking. The program leads up to the 38th Annual Great American Smokeout. The smokeout is Nov. 21, when smokers are encouraged to give up cigarettes for 24 hours.
I'm so tired of the government (state and federal) bitching that WE are costing IT money. We don't cost you a dime, you assholes. We give you a lot of money!
Maybe next year they can use really large pumkins and go after obesity.
nys is profitting hugely off the tax payer!!!! now with the casino vote passed the hefty price tag will not be worth the millions people lose out of pocket hoping for a big win. This money would have been better spend trying to get manufacturing going again ...at least when ya throw your money into this sector you have something to show for it. I am sad that the casino vote went through.
cant stand nys with the sin tax..they want smokers to quit? really? I highly doubt that they truly care about my health....the more smokers the more tax revenue...Thank God for the Indian Reservation!
