Photos: Batavia Area Jaycees new business expo

By Howard B. Owens

The first regional home and business expo sponsored by the Batavia Area Jaycees kicked off this morning in Batavia City Centre.

The Genesee Region Expo replaces the home show run by the Jaycees for 60 years.

More than two dozen vendors are ready to explain to visitors this weekend how they can make their homes more attractive and more comfortable.

The event includes food and a kids zone for children to hang out while parents visit vendor booths.

The show runs today through 7 p.m. and tomorrow from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Howard and Billie do very well covering local events and can't possibly cover everything. They're not the Daily News with numerous reporters. Your previous post in the other thread, to be honest, came across as angry and with a sense of entitlement. If you were unhappy not seeing the coverage you wanted, you could have written something up and I'm certain Howard would have posted it for you. Your mileage may vary...

Lori,Thank you for your suggestions. I just thought, wrongly as it turns out, that as much as this publication supports local buisness, they would have been a little more on top of this. I only found out about the expo by reading the banner across main st a couple days ago. that's when i looked back to see how i could have missed the story. The Daily news also dropped the ball on the story, due to an internal mixup of some sort about the date. We need to support the Jaycee's and all our local small businesses. At my age my mileage varies a bunch!

Waste of time again this year , at least they didn't charge me to get in this year .Venue was better but realy bad lay out considering there wasn't many vendors , why would they spread it out so much . Many vendors will never re-coup the ridiculous fee they paid to set up at this joke . My opinion ,but I don't think I am alone.
