Photo: Route 77 closed for culvert repair

As we posted previously, southbound Route 77 is closed for culvert repair. FYI: The detour is rather lengthy, taking you west on Cohocton Road, south on Lake Road and then back east on Route 33.

Chances are there is a very good reason for this work being done now.

However, my first reaction was:
* at Spring break with travel traffic?
* with Spring sports, extra school traffic, etc.?
* at the opening of Darien Lake season?

It has to be done sometime. Here's hoping for speed! Thanks to the highway workers.

The park opens on May 12, but the construction is scheduled to be completed by then.

Thanks, Rick. I guess I didn't "get that" part. Hope they can adhere to it. Still lots of traffic this time of year. Road repairs a very necessary evil.
