Maples are known for jwi's, if you look in the leaves you'll see cans of "bud"weiser the tree was consuming.

arbor suicide is no joke. it's all about seeing the warning signs before something happens. drooping boughs, dull colored leaves, forgetting about its roots.
Only YOU can prevent forest suicides.
Any idea what caused the driver to hit the tree? That looks like a significant hit
