New Corwin ad attacks Jack Davis

By Howard B. Owens

Press Release:

WILLIAMSVILLE – The campaign for Jane Corwin, successful businesswoman and candidate for New York’s 26th Congressional District, released a new 30-second ad today highlighting Jack Davis’ consistent and unwavering support of liberal Democrats.

“Democrat Jack Davis proudly said he ‘couldn’t be happier’ to have played a role in making Nancy Pelosi Speaker of the House, and during her time as Speaker the government borrowed trillions of dollars more from China and our economy lost millions of jobs," said Matthew Harakal, Communications Director for Jane Corwin for Congress. "Jack Davis can try and avoid talking about his past helping liberal Democrats get in power and push through economic policies that have decimated our economy, but Western New York voters deserve to know the truth about the real Jack Davis.”

James Renfrew

Davis' most recent comment is that he plans to sit with Republicans if he wins. Doesn't sound like a Pelosi-style Democrat to me. Maybe Mr. Harakal should read the daily newspaper every so often, rather than his own press releases. .

I've known Jack Davis since shortly before his first campaign and one of the things that had him at odds with the local Democrats was his often derisive remarks regarding Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi and how they have been a disaster for America with their support of NAFTA, CAFTA, other free trade agreements and preferential tax treatment of corporations that export American jobs and industry. Liberal is not what springs to mind when I think of Jack Davis.Perhaps Ms. Corwin might consider Jack Davis's long time opposition to NAFTA, CAFTA and WTO agreements pushed by both Bushes and the Republican leadership in both the House and Senate for decades.

Jane Corwin may be a successful businesswoman and she's probably even a nice person, but her candidacy illustrates everything that is wrong with the Republican Party in Upstate New York.

Even though I am a Republican, I won't be jumping on to the Jane Corwin bandwagon because she, does not represent, me.

Her penchant for negative campaign ads and vilification of her opponents are not traits that I find desirable in my elected representatives.
