Lost dog found on Alibon Road, Oakfield

By Howard B. Owens

Jeff Allen's daughter found this dog wandering on Albion Road, Oakfield, last night. Jeff said he checked with neighbors and nobody had seen the dog before. It appears to have been at large for some time. The dog has a collar but no tags. If it's your dog, contact Jeff at (585) 356-9705. The owner should be able to describe the collar or present proof of ownership.

UPDATE: All spiffed up:

No one has come forward yet. Took him to DAS Pet Tails in Oakfield to get cleaned up. Thought maybe he had been taken there for grooming on the past. While there Nina helped us get him washed, de-flead, de-matted and generally primped. Looks like a new dog now! Thanks Nina. On the way to the vet to get checked now,

Just wanted to do a quick update on the found dog. Took him to the vet yesterday just to eliminate the possibility of any urgent medical issues. Vet said he is in good overall health. Vet estimates him to be around 3 yrs. old, and he weighs 13 lbs. He is NOT neutered. Had a call last night from someone thinking it might be theirs, but their dog was fixed. He is a Pomeranian, likely purebred. Very well mannered, housetrained, and sociable. Hard to believe anyone could have abandon him, so we will be diligent in attempting to find the owner. Howard will be posting an updated picture after we had him de-matted, flea bath, and some grooming to get rid of impossible clumps from his adventure in the wild. Please spread the word, somebody must be missing this little guy.
