Dunkin' Donuts plans to open location in Le Roy by the spring

By Howard B. Owens

It's not just an Internet rumor -- Dunkin' Donuts is indeed going to open a location in Le Roy.

Reached at home this evening, Le Roy's code enforcement officer Jeff Steinbrenner confirmed that a representative of the new location brought plans before the Town Planning Board Oct. 15.

He said the shop should be open by spring.

The location is between Pizzaland and Townsend Energy on West Main Street, in the Village.

The lot has been vacant for probably 30 years, said Mayor Greg Rogers. Longtime residents will remember it as the spot of the old Grove Motel.

No further information is available at this time.

Correct Matt, not the same lot. It's the lot with all the trees. I hope they have more seating capacity then the Batavia Dunkin Donuts.

Hopefully a better traffic flow pattern to get in and out as well. Then again we are in Genesee County where there is a high demand for bicycle lanes and medians for safe traffic flow and left hand turns to nowhere.

A drive thru and 32 parking spots, and the grove was still there when I moved back to NY in 1998.
So hope this isn't the reason Java's closed, but I fear it contributed.

I wonder how much longer after DD is built before Tim Horton's proposes a LeRoy location..... I also heard there is a Dunkin going in Bergen, where the old service station used to be @ 19 & 33 intersection-I was stunned to see the new building already up and enclosed when I went by today-it hasn't been more than 2 weeks since I last went by there and they were removing old tanks at that time......

I wish this was on Route 19 as I drive the way to work every single morning and there isn't a Dunkin or Tim Hortons anywhere on my route without diverging and I don't want to do that or I will be late as I leave exactly enough time to get to work with a 5 minute cushion
