Totally Laughable. If anyone remembers how long over due Grand Stands Sports Bar was, this should be no surprise. I(who know nothing) redid my entire bathroom in three weeks, virtually alone, could not understand why it took 4 month to do the bar? I wouldn't be surprised if this outfit delays it more. They missed by a full month as it is, not a couple of days, a full month. I feel sorry for Thurman who has been all over the radio pumping up the August 30th date. lol

Batavia Downs announced today that their highly anticipated expansion project will open on Sept. 27.
"Pushing back our opening date ensures that all facets of our new gaming facility will be finished and ready to accept customers,” said Michael D. Kane, president and CEO of Batavia Downs.
Batavia Downs will be open on Aug. 28th and 29th, days which the casino had planned to be closed. Promotions already scheduled around the weekend of Aug. 30th, including several large cash drawings, will go on as planned.
"Customers should check our Twitter and Facebook pages for exciting promotions planned on days we were to be closed,” said Ryan Hasenauer, director of marketing.
I had a tour a couple of weeks ago of the new facility. At that time, I remark that they still had a lot of work to do and I figured that it would not be ready for the 1 September projected opening. It will be beautiful when it does open.
I will never ever feel sorry for Thermos Thomas - he makes a boat load of money for every appearance and every ad. And he brings in exactly zero extra customers. Check the books, maybe he works for the GCEDC!
PS - I am anxiously looking forward to the grand reopening of Batavia Downs! The folks there already do a fantastic job and the new gaming floor will be a noticeable step up over the wedged in layout on the second floor!
Can hardly wait: Have any of you ever been to Atlantic City? Nice at the casino, one block in.. poverty. Perhaps you have been to Niagara Falls Casino. Most of you wouldn't walk off the property. Vegas anyone of you??? The casino attracts people from outside the community who lose there money at the casino eat at what think is a free buffet or discounted( you paid for with your losses) then leave. Locals attend the casino more frequently Lose, then think they can win it back. Not! Lets hope the locals don't fall in the trap.
