Veness Strollo Ladies Auxiliary Members Volunteer at VAMC in Batavia

The Ladies Auxiliary to VFW Post#1602 volunteers at the VAMC at 222 Richmond St.in Batavia on a monthly basis.They have "adopted" The Center for Hope, which is a residential program for Women Veterans with PTSD. The Auxiliary supplies the ladies with a monthly pizza and birthday cake party. The also donate personal and craft items throughout the year to make the ladies stay more comfortable.

In addition the members of the Auxiliary assist at District #7 Auxiliary. There is an annual picnic where Auxiliary members from all over our district attrend. We serve the Veterans there meal, transport them to and from the event in their wheelchairs. We just have plan old fun laughing and joking wirth them.

There are other ways to Volunteer as well. People are needed to help Veterans with correspondence.

If you are not a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and would like to Volunteer call the VAMC in Batavia. They are always ready to welcome new volunteers.Call  the VA at (585) 297-100 and ask for Mark Francis. He is the Coordinator of Veterans Services.
