May I pour you a drink?" asked Le Roy's smooth-talking Mayor Greg "Porp" Rogers.

"I'll think I'll have a Harvey Wallbanger," replied the beautiful nonprofit volunteer.

"That was popular in the '70s, I remember it like it was yesterday," old Porp said.

"Make it without alcohol though, I'm designated tonight," she said.

"I virgin Wallbanger?"

"Like I said -- I've gotta drive."

Meanwhile...

"Hey barkeep!" barked the finger-snapping advertising manager at Howard Owens, "The Journalist" who was drafting a Genny. "Can I pul-eeeze get some vino over here?"

(Couldn't she see he was busy and none too swift? Hey, doesn't she work for him?)

That's the sort of stuff one might expect at the annual "Pour You A Drink" event at The Smokin' Eagle in Le Roy on Wednesday night.

In the spirit of fun for a good cause, four sports have volunteered to be beverage servers and mixologists from 6 to 10 p.m. June 4 and all their tips will go to benefit Habitat for Humanity.

So if Bill Pitcher from the Ghost Riders band doesn't make your Mai Tai just so, give him a big tip anyway.

Ditto for his behind-the-bar compadres Joe "The Comedian" Condidorio and Rick Ellis, from the famed band Duke Jupiter. Don't be surprised if they can't concoct the perfect Martini. Tip them well in spite of it.

The Smokin' Eagle is located at 9 Main St., Le Roy
