Custom Suzuki motor bike valued at $16K stolen from garage on Pratt Road

By Howard B. Owens

Sometime between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m., thieves made off with this custom Suzuki motorcycle valued at $16,000 from a garage at a residence on Pratt Road.

The perpetrators forced entry and pushed the bike to the road.

Two weeks ago, the bike was listed on Buffalo Craigslist.

Anybody with information about the theft or whereabouts of the bike can call Investigator Roger Stone at the Sheriff's Office, (585) 345-3000, ext. 3570.

Personal Opinion:

Looks like the bike next to it, is more valuable and a better ride. I know I would not buy nor pay 16K for a piece of Suzuki Garbage. Curious about this Buffalo Craigslist, did the owner or the thieves add it to the site. If the owner did, did he/she included the address of his/her residency so, they knew where to look for it or did they just use a phone number and let the thieves' fingers do the walking? If the thieves inputted it on Graigslist can they discover the identity of the suspects? Sorry for being insensitive but, I can't believe that someone would pay 16K for that. How would someone from outside our area know where to search for it if there was not any personal information on the website? Wasn't that motorcyclist who led Police on high speed chase coming from Buffalo? Did they even catch that person?

Really a NOS connection on this crap, Why? Maybe so, when they wreck at that speed there is no suffering and it is instant death? Absolutely no sense for putting that on a street bike. Save it for the race track where there is less of a chance killing or hurting someone other than yourself.

Sorry I have no information on the identity of the suspects or location of the Suzuki Garbage. Hopefully the thieves are identified and arrested and the owner gets their property back.

John, I know that everyone is entitled to they're own opinion but come on that's pretty harsh.. Yes you might not pay that much but it looks like a lot of time and money was spent on this bike and I'm sure its worth all of that and probably more to the owner. Good luck on recovering your property

John, I've no clue where all of your pent up hostility is coming from. You're ranting and raving about the most ridiculous points. Some people like that kind of bike and some don't. Why are you knocking someone because they like that style? I own a Honda Valkyrie and I paid far less for it than what someone pays for a Harley. I think the Honda is a better bike from an engineering viewpoint, but I don't knock anyone for wanting to own or ride a Harley. I'd love to take a spin on a bike like the Suzuki in this picture, but I'd never want to own one. I like my cruiser and its comforts. Some people like sports cars and some people like a pickup truck. Different strokes for different folks.

Why Doug because, I have 1ST Amendment Rights. Hostility? Just my opinion! Only 8 thumbs down so, how dislike is my statement? Like you stated Doug, "Some people like sports cars and some people like a pickup truck." "Some people like that kind of bike and some don't." So, to claim my comment is hostile is inaccurate, once again just my honest opinion which has nothing to do with hostility (That is funny you think that though, just show me how little you actually know of me). To claim my opinion is "ranting" and "ridiculous points" is inaccurate as well. How is my opinion that? Because I think it is ridiculous that, someone needs to add a NOS to a bike that, has plenty of lethal speed without such? Because I think that, 16K is a outrageous price for a sports bike with minimal modification? Like you I like cruisers better and I am not all about Harleys either. Harleys are half Jap anyways. I had a Kawaski Vulcan 1600 Classic which resembled a Road King. The fenders on my Vulcan were made by the same company that makes the Road King fenders.

You are right "Different strokes for different folks." Hench my "Personal Opinion." So, have you ever made a comment about how kids on sports bikes driving wrecklessly? Like or hate my comment but, still my opinion brother.

Hello Lou, as far as being harsh, I find it true. Why is it harsh? Can you give me a logical answer why anyone needs to add NOS to a street sport bike that can probably do 200 mph without? I can't say this rider is unsafe (Since I do not know who he/she is) but, if they have that, I can be pretty sure he/she has run the horses on the public streets sometimes. Heck if I had a bike like that, I would want to test the horses.

Why is it harsh?? This person just had what I'm sure was they're pride and joy stolen and all you are doing is adding insult to injury..your comments are so irrelevant to the story...if this was an article about a high speed chase involving this bike that put people's lives in danger and ended badly, then you would have valid points......there is opinion and then there is ignorance.... unfortunately you gave us both....

Ok Lou, if this was their pride and joy then, why put it on Craig's List. Usually people who cherish something do not sell. If, they are a business and built bikes that would be a different story. To say this is a custom bike is an over statement since, I can't really tell from photo but does not look very custom to me. Seen other similiar to this. To say this bike is worth 16K is over pricing and in my eyes trying to make a profit.

(I am NOT saying this is the case but, it is POSSIBLE. Especially in this economy.)

This could be a case of insurance fraud. Can't say it is and can't say it is not. How much information did this individual broadcast online about the whereabout of this bike if any? If he did not broadcast any information then, how did one know where to look? That bright yellow would not be hard to miss. These questions were part of my comment that were not reflected or commented upon. Just the facts that, I feel that 16K is too high of a price tag for minimal modifications and that I can't see the reasoning behind adding NOS to a sport bike that roams public streets and roads (Really important safety issue to me.).

What I will give you is the Suzuki Garbage was a tad harsh and unnecessary. However, ignorance because, someone is overly sensitive? Nah! Harsh because, like many others who express their thoughts about something? Nah! I also stated that, I hope they catch the individuals whom alledgely stoled this bike. Sorry if, you have sensitive feelings about the rest of my comment, next time I will leave cookies and milk for you. My opinion was just that. This bike has alledgely been stolen. Maybe it was someone who knows the owner since, they knew where the bike was actually located and Pratt Road is not that busy of a street or in a major populated area. With so much money to spend on several bikes one would think and alarm system would have been installed. That would make sense if, like you stated Lou it may of been his pride and joy.

Like I stated Doug how little you actually know.

Really Doug? Nothing I stated could be possibly true. It could never happen Doug, right? It is only fiction nothing like this could ever happen in good ole Genesee County. Everyone is honest, respectful, law abiding, etc..... You must know all and see all? Is this because, you roam facebook and get the truth and facts about all and everyone? Off the wall that, is funny just like you. I really appreciate your BS it makes me laugh. Everyone needs a good joke and you are mine.

Your right John, you have 1st amendment rights to speak, but it doesn't give you the right not to hear feedback. As for the comments lets get one thing straight, an opinon is neither fact or falsehood, it's a perception from an individual based on their own knowledge and life experiences.

As for your opinions on this bike, well again that's your perspective but even you yourself realized you were being harsh in airing such opinion as you commented on it being so, To me that shows that you were aware of that fact. Your rant included insults about the owner's ignorance in posting, you mentioned a NOS connection which means you obviously read the craigslist ad and saw there no address mentioned which makes your allusion to his posting it there a little ignorant and spiteful. Later comments with japs and more calling this bike garbage and whining about the NOS show there is some sort of hostility there. People don't have to be in business to built a custom bike, just like people don't have to be in law inforcement, or a terrorist or survivalist group to enjoy shooting.

I know people with NOS kits in cars and bikes that are for the street and street legalm they can and do go to race and drag tracks to test and enjoy the fruits of their work. Just like I know people who for the challenge of it load their own ammo and test out new propellants and projectiles to increase power, range and accuracy. Your attack on Doug and his so called BS seems unreasonable, like the pot calling the kettle black seeing as how you have made a lot of assumptions on this thread as well. You are correct that everything you said could possibly be true, but on the flip side everything you said could also be inaccurate, The nationality of a parts manufacturer has absolutely nothing to do with quality. There are American manufacturers that make crap even worse than Chinese, Japanese or Russian. THAT is a fact that no one can dispute. Maybe you should think twice before posting stuff like you did if you are gonna get so defensive about it afterwards.

Kyle, I used to race my "street car" in the summer of 84' at Spencer Speedway. I had a Chevelle station wagon with a 455 rocket motor in it. I took the motor out of an Olds Delta 98 that had 17,000 original miles on it. An econopower towing cam gave the big block a vast improvement in low RPM torque. I paired it with a 2100 RPM stall converter, a turbo 400 short tailed transmission with a shift kit, a Hurst slap shifter, a blueprinted distributor (high voltage electronic ignition) and dual exhaust. That car was a true sleeper. For the track I also had a cool-can installed. I drove that car back and forth to work every day.

Just because the bike has a NOS kit on it, doesn't mean that it's charged all the time. Lots of diesels have a propane injection kit installed on them for added horsepower, and don't be fooled, that extra HP is not always used for towing. It's used for having some fun from time to time.

John, I'm having trouble keeping up with trying to figure out what you're even talking about. I'm in awe of your ability to segue from topic point to off topic point to the obscure point with such finesse. *shrug*

I hung at Oswego speedway when I went out for that in my teen years Doug. And that doesn't count all the times fishing in Oswego when you could almost hear the announcer and the races while I was reeling in walleye and trout. ;)

Please Kyle are you blind? Look by the rear tire and you can see the hook up with bold letters NOS! Which means what? No Outrageous Speed? As far as hostility because, I stated it is a jap piece of garbage. No, just because, I do not like these type bikes does not make my feeling hostile. Never stated that, you had to be in the business to built customs. Kyle another thing you miss is I owned a Kawasaki Vulcan which is what? A Jap Bike. I made the comment that; the cruiser next to the crotch rocket is worth more to me.

Defensive? That is funny Kyle, if you think I am truly defensive then, it proves a point that, I read that, social medias are a bad communication tool because, the tone is left out and meanings and understanding are misunderstood. Also, "owner's ignorance in posting?" I merely was asking a question how it was posted Kyle since, that could help in an investigation. It gives an idea if, the thieves were local or could be from further out such another state or even a country (Canada being extremely close). Afterall someone would have to know the location of this bike. The last I knew Pratt Road is not a major traffic hub.

What comes down to Kyle is yes I dislike crotch rocks, I am not saying only those bikers drive wrecklessly but, the trend is growing and we are seeing more severe crotch rocket accidents. I too had a motorcycle wreck but, I was not so bad that, it took a shovel to pick me up. Do you know the smell and stress it puts on rescuers when you have crotch rocket that, goes almost 200 mph and goes through a chain link fence? BTW, the chain link fence is still intact, the body looked like it went through a sausage grinder.

Second, I do hope someone catches these individuals and the bike is returned. Yes, knowing the posting information can help because, it may focus on a area of coverage or at least a starting point for police. So, my ignorance as you put it, is not accurate. More than likely the bike is chopped up in parts or being repainted to avoid discovery.
