A half-day program aimed at showcasing the quality, diversity and opportunities available at all colleges within the State University of New York (SUNY) system will take place at the Batavia campus of Genesee Community College on Tuesday, Oct. 16.
More than 100 guidance counselors from high schools in the Genesee, Livingston, Orleans and Wyoming counties region are expected to take part in Operation Inform, or OpInform. It's intended to make sure the high-school counseling community is fully aware of nature and scope of the SUNY system and to provide information on admissions practices, criteria, application processing and special programs.
Information about each SUNY campus will be available the Conable Technology Building of GCC from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
To register for the workshops, high school guidance counselors should contact Christie Thompson at 343-0055, ext. 6380, or via email: email@example.com.

Representative Kathy Hochul (NY-26) will hold satellite office hours in Batavia from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 16, in the second-floor conference room at city hall, One Batavia City Centre.
This will provide constituents of New York’s 26th Congressional District with direct access to Rep. Hochul’s district staff to assist with casework issues.
“These satellite office hours give constituents direct access to staff who are able to help with a multitude of casework issues,” Representative Hochul said. “By sending my staff to different communities, I hope we can help resolve problems for Western New Yorkers without making them take inconvenient trips.”
All constituents of New York’s 26th District can continue to receive assistance at anytime by calling Representative Hochul’s Williamsville office at (716) 634-2324 or by visiting 325 Essjay Road, Suite #405, Williamsville, NY 14221, or by calling her Greece office at (585) 270-4828 or visiting 2300 W.
