A new dodgeball league is forming in Pembroke. This league is for people 18 and over looking to get some exercise and have some fun. This league will run for 7 weeks starting January 21. Play is on Saturday nights. There is room for 12 teams. If you want to play and do not have a team. Sign up and we will put you on a team. Registration is due by January 13th. Members of the Museum Quilt Guild were invited to the "Carnival" for this year's challenge. Twenty-three quilts by twenty-one members were presented at the January 21 meeting, and will be on display at the Richmond Memorial Library during regular hours during the month of February. A variety of techniques and colors were used to create quilts depicting carousel horses and other rides, Mardi Gras themed quilts, and fond memories. Come out and visit the animals at the Genesee County Animal Shelter available for adoption. We have the best cats and dogs in the county! Visit our website for photos and details on all the animals available for adoption.
Adoption Procedures:
There is a $30 non-refundable fee for all animals. If the animal is not spayed or neutered there is a $35 refundable deposit upon proof of surgery. An adoption application must be filled out at the Shelter by the person wishing to adopt the animal. Once the application has been reviewed and approved the potential adopter may visit and meet any of the animals.
DOGS: All dogs must be licensed BEFORE leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that license dogs are not open on the weekends. All dogs must leave the Shelter on a leash. Please bring a leash.
CATS: All cats must leave the Shelter in a cat carrier. Please bring a cat carrier.
Vaccinations etc.
All animals older than 3 months of age are given rabies vaccine. Unless there is proof of a prior rabies vaccine, the vaccine is good for one year. All animals are given at least one dose of deworming medication. All dogs receive a parvo/distemper vaccine which is good for one year. All cats receive a feline distemper combo vaccine (good for one year) and are tested for FeLV/FIV.
