Shane Reisman, 39, of 143 State St., Batavia, was arrested yesterday by Genesee County sheriff's deputies following an investigation into the transportation and sale of illegal drugs. Reisman was charged with several felonies, including: third-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, fourth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, fifth-degree sale of a controlled substance, third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Reisman is alleged to have sold "quantities of pills" to an undercover agent of the Genesee County Local Drug Enforcement Task Force. Following the arrest, made at Resiman's home Monday, he was sent to Genesee County Jail without bail pending an arraignment in county court later this afternoon.

FOR THOSE THAT MISSED IT
WE heavily debated this last time.I would say that anyone with CLASS would not make a public comment on any other ON THE BEAT REPORT.I'm not one to hit someone when their down and also believe in freedom of the press at the same time.

I followed the last "On the Beat" article. The "debate" you're referring to was simply another user pissing and and moaning about the OTB articles. Few people cared about people commenting. It didn't seem to be a big concern.

I'll stop talking here. I don't want another flame war over this article either.

I rarely make any statements or comments on this site or even on the OTB articles. I just felt compelled to express myself (as I am allowed to), about something I feel passionately about. If you knew me, you would know I don't, and wouldn't "kick someone when they are down". Please forgive me!

I have one question. Why are some people so vocal in the elimination of this section of the website? Referring to Mr. McClurg’s comment, if he himself had any class he would have stated his opinion once and left it with that. I do not feel that it is necessary to remind everyone of his opinion over and over. If this site chooses to report on criminal activity, it is there right to do so. If you or anyone else has a problem with this, you do not have to read the on the beat articles. All you have to do is simply scroll down the page past the article and save us from having to read your repeated comments.

I'm backing everything Nick said. I wanted to say the same things (with a few choice words added in there), but decided against it just to avoid another flame war. Since that point is past, I have a few more things to say.

The criminal activity reported is generally serious. Minor traffic violations aren't reported, unless they're in tandem with a DWI, which is serious. The few users complaining that the crimes reported are "rag mag gossip fodder" are way off. If the rag mag gossip fodder was reported, there would be weekly, if not daily reports of the parties busted on the apartment complex I live on.

If anything, the only unimportant crimes reported (in my opinion) are the marijuana possession charges. Not that I'm promoting drugs, but most of the people charged are people I know from going to college with them.

Police blotters are one of the most recognized, if not expected sections in both online and print newspapers. It all goes back to if you don't like it, don't read it. Plain and simple.

Here one:

If you don't like postings like the Police blotter then SCROLL past it don't clog up the board with complaints it is useless and none productive to this site.

the mug shots, whether normal, funny or scary, are a bit too much. why not put the mug shot in only after the accused have been convicted? is the genesee county jail so INEPT that the person arrested is going to escape? i hope not!

JT, if you really need a reason for mug shots, they confirm identity.

About a week ago, a person named John McGowan was charged with domestic violence, if my memory serves me right. This was surprising (to me) because the Career Center Coordinator at GCC is also named John McGowan and he's a great person. Up until a picture had been put up, there wasn't any way of knowing if the article was talking about the same person or not.

Again to reiterate, all of the stories run are public record along with the pictures. The On the Beat articles just make finding this information much more organized and easier. If you have a problem with them, scroll past and don't look at them.
