I got a question. Why are all these people just standing around?? They have never been in a tornado before have they??!!!

Carol, I "GOT" (have) an answer for you. They're standing around so that they can watch the tornado! What else were they supposed to be doing?
The tornado looks to be a safe distance away and they were able to determine the direction that it was traveling. If it were traveling towards them, they probably wouldn't have been standing around.
