I haven't been to a movie theatre in many years. People cannot shut their mouths during a movie which aggravates me so much it takes away any pleasure I may have gotten. Curmudgeon? probably, movie goer? No
I rent videos almost exclusively from Redbox - especially since I can pick up a movie while shopping at Wegmans during my lunch break (I can pretty much walk to Wegmans from work) and can return it here in Batavia or back in Rochester - at any Redbox location. Susan I'm curious to know what theater you go to - is it the one in Batavia or do you travel outside of town. See my post about what you can't get in Batavia.

I either see them in the theater, buy them, or rent them from my local library. And usually I will not buy them unless I have seen them first.
