I could have told you that it wasn't rite aid putting up the reward. I'll also bet they did very little to nothing for their employees that were traumatized by this event.

I was robbed at knife point while working for them in Rochester. Fortunately in that case, a police officer and I got the guy several blocks away. He was charged with attempted robbery and menacing. When I called my district manager to talk to him about what happened (this was about 9:30 PM) he told me that as long as nobody went to the hospital, he was too busy doing his taxes to talk to me.

True story.

Oh wow, Bob. That's crazy. One would think that your district manager would have been the one to call YOU, not the other way around. And to have a bit of compassion!

Thankfully you were not injured (physically anyway.) I imagine you don't get over something that tragic overnight.

Give him a night or a day off?

If I was a district manager for a company and one of my employees was robbed at knife/gun point while working, I'd have the decency to check on them and give them a paid day or two off.

Ever been robbed at knife or gunpoint Doug? I'd have to assume by your reaction to Bob's post that you have not. We all like to act tough, but it is typical for people who witness or are the victim of an unexpected violent act to react with fear and shock.

I'm sorry to hear about your former district manager Bob. I certainly hope that he's no longer employed in a field where he holds a position of authority.

Doug isn't acting tough, he is reacting to a typical lack of compassion so common in today's society.
Perhaps Doug's reaction would be the same as the manager's. "Don't bother me, boy. I'm busy". It's cold and heartless to agree with a manager not investigating or expressing any interest in the welfare of someone who just went through that.

I think it is that Christopher Laird guy that they cannot seem to find... I have no evidence yet; but I am around people who talk to people who know people who found out from people and so on...

Chris Charvella, I lived in the North East Section of the city of Rochester for 13 years. I entered my house every day with my Kimber .45 in hand because my (how should I say this factually without being called a racist) African American and Puerto Rican neighbors moved into my house when I left for work. They thought I owned really neat stuff and instead of paying for it with hard work the way I did, they helped themselves to it free of charge. I know all about living in a "slightly" stressful atmosphere. Gang bangers and crack were my neighbors. They're the reasons why I moved to Genesee county. Now I live near meth labs and have had my 4-wheeler stolen out of my driveway. So before you all jump to conclusions that I'm heartless or cold, I've walked the walk, literally. I still want to know what the district manager should've done and I don't believe the manager said something like "I'm doing my taxes, get lost." I know a tale or an elaboration on a half factual story when I hear one. I never said being robbed at gun point wasn't scary. My point was that I'm not sure what your employer actually owes you when it does happen. If I were robbed on the street in Batavia, would every resident of Batavia owe me something for my pain and suffering? Sh*t happens to everyone in their life. we get over it and move on. You people are unreal how you jump to conclusions from a few sentences. Good grief.

Doug, what color and what kind of four-wheeler was stolen from you?

Not that I can prove anything, but I have neighbors that randomly came into possession of a rather nice four-wheeler and I've always been convinced they stole it. I see a small coincidence here.

Did they ever catch who did this? I don't recall seeing anymore after this post. Just curious if it was that Laird kid, as BILLY GALLIFORD claimed it might be.
