Open Thread: Favorite community dinner

Today, on my drive around Genesee County, I came across a few signs and flier for various church dinners or other community meals coming up this month.
It reminded me of a dinner at attended at Emmanuel Baptist Church on Oak Street a few weeks ago. A woman at the event said, "Emmanuel has always put on the best dinners of any church in Genesee County."
Is that true?
If you could go to only one community dinner in October, which one would it be? And if not in October, what church or civic group serves the best dinners?

I've attended a lot of community dinners and I say it's impossible to pick one over another. The Oakfield Methodist pork dinners & their chicken barbecues are always great, but so are the dinners at Oakfield Independent Presbyterian, the chicken barbecues by Elba Fire Department and the Lenten Fish Frys at the Episcopal Church in Batavia, to name only a few.
My personal favorite,, only because I suffer extreme bias,is the annual Turkey Dinner done by the Elba First Presbyterian Church at the Elba Rec Hall the Thursday after Election Day. Judging by the response from all over the county, many others agree and they tend to sell out before the posted end time for the dinner.
Best advice for the Turkey Dinner: Get there early and enjoy the fellowship!
Oh, and don't forget the Kiwanis Pancake Days

I know this isn't sports, but I've taken an interest in this topic.
I love to eat and I love talking to people, so I would like to attend as many of these dinners as possible.
I obviously spend a lot of time in the sports world, but would like to come out to join any groups that would like to have me there.
Please send me an e-mail with the details at brianhillabush@yahoo.com and I will do my best to come give your community group some publicity on this Web site.

I personally enjoy the County Democrats Pasta Night, Maria Mallow usually makes a homemade tomato sauce with meatballs over Pasta cooked al dente. Delicious!
