By Howard B. Owens

We just received this statement from Interim Public Health Director Randy Garney:

It has been reported to the Genesee County Health Department that 1 of the 2 "suspected H1N1 (Swine Flu) cases is NEGATIVE for H1N.  One suspect case is still pending.

This morning while eating out at local family dinner. To our dismay someone comes in with a child sick. Runny nose and coughing. With the swine flu scare it's so frustrating to think how many people "Just don't get it, Your sick stay home".

Don't assume that every child with a runny nose and coughing has the swine flu. It could be allergies - especially this time of year. When I first put my youngest child in daycare she had a runny nose for a year. I couldn't lock her up and hide her away from the world.

I have never NOT seen a child somewhere with a "snot nose" ! I do understand about the H1 N1 or whatever they call it today. I guess I just have seen far worse things that gross me out while I am eating and I am de-sensitised.

I don't think the virus should cause a big scare.People need to be careful.Wash yer hands slot. The schools should make the children more aware.I never send the boys to school sick.
