Le Roy man sentenced to prison for sex with boy

John W. Brown, 29, of Le Roy, is going to prison for having sex with a 13-year-old boy in Livingston County.
Brown was sentenced to five years in prison by Livingston County Court Judge Dennis Cohen.
Once released, Brown will also be supervised for five years.
Brown was convicted of having sex with the boy in November, on his 29th birthday.

Good job Judge Cohen...this deviant needs to be locked up and lose the keys. BTW, this guy is not a true Leroyan, just a dirtbag transplant

That is so disgusting. I agree with you Bud ~ LOSE the keys. Let's see how he feels once he "drops the soap" in prison. Five years isn't LONG enough.

I do agree, however, that 5 years is not long enough, 50 years sounds a little better to me....(he'll probably only do 3)

a quick check of sex offenders in Leroy shows 9 of them, I wonder how many are "true Leroyans" and how many are "transplants"? There may be one living near you!

Gary- 2 of the nine are from here. One is so old, he never leaves the house. The other knows if he comes down my street, the dog comes off the leash accidentally. And the police chief will understand accidents happen. I'm not sure why this town attracts these lowlifes, but I make sure we check that site on a regular basis.

BUD, are you suggesting that the chief of you pd is corrupt enough that you are willing to brag on a public forum that he will let you get away with an intention crime because someone did their time for a scumbag act and is now forever labeled a sex offender? im glad im not from laroy.

I have lived in Leroy for a couple years now, and although I do like the quite, peaceful atmosphere, there does exist a very noticeable air of "us" and "them", if you weren't born and raised here you are considered and "outsider" and people will let you know it, I personally don't care but have seen this mindset in action; case in point, Bud being able to identify that 2 out of 9 sex-offenders are "Native Leroyans" (the rest are 'dirt bag transplants')...sad, very sad.
As far as the corruption of the Leroy Police Chief, I think he'd be interested in Duds remarks....

Gary- anyone,ANYONE, who molests children, regardless of their hometown, is a waste of air and space. As far as Chief Hayward, he is one of the most forthright, upstanding people that live in our town. My attempt at sarcasm obviously failed miserably. That being said, I apologize if I left any question as to Chris's character. Now as far as my character....I'm no angel, but I will never burn in hell for my misactions in my life. The 2 I said I knew on that site? They are going to eternal damnation for harming these children, and I have said it to one of their faces! As far as the "clique" nature you refer to, I can tell you on my street, I have very good neighbors who moved from Batavia, Caledonia, Philadelphia,Hornell, and they are every bit a part of our community's fabric as myself or anyone born here. It's the scum of society that I look out for, and if I cross paths with them, I hold my son close to me, and make sure I see them walking away before I take my eyes off them. Sorry if that sounds paranoid, or demented, but I know once a pedophile, always a pedophile.

No Nick, our chief is not corrupt. Bad attempt at sarcasm on my part. But pedophiles are sick, and there is no cure. You may be able to put it in remission, but not forever. And I am glad you aren't from "laroy" either.

I am sorry the "Dub" was simply a type-o, I did not mean any disrespect by it.
You and I are in agreement as far as pedophiles go, I think there should be mandatory long term sentences (life in prison would be nice!)

When I still lived in Batavia there was a sex offender living 2 doors down from me, his victim was 3 years old, I made copies of his profile and went door to door letting my neighbors know he (and others) were there, it is this kind of grass roots effort that will keep your children safe (I have no children, but care none the less)

Something tells me you are a protective mother bear type. You can tell the real pride you have in your children and grandchildrn by how you write/speak of them, and I wouldn't want to be the recipient of your wrath under any circumstances.
And there are a lot of kids on our street. One of the reasons we moved back into the village. I, along with my awesome neighbors, watch out for each other and our kids. So, I am glad to see John W Brown locked up for the next couple of years, and I hope no person harms any person, especially sexual exploitation of children. THAT IS A TRULY UNFORGIVEABLE CRIME!
