Waste of money. Any figures on how much it costs us, the taxpayers, to fund this search? Were they successful? Are they really going to notice individual plants in a home garden?

did they space them out or in a clump?

I don't know, but I can spot certain plants a ways away. I'm not sure about marijuana plants, but they may have specific markings or blooms or something this time of year that makes them very easy to find.

If you disagree with their tactics why not "Mow them a message" in your backyard? A 2 word phrase should be plenty.

LMAO... funny how we think that all pot heads are on welfare... Half America's police force and more of our lawyers are so stoned they can hardly stand up. Wasn't there one just recently who died from an OD locally?? Not to mention doctor's abusing pain pills. Hate to tell ya, but most of our middle-class, high-school prince and princesses are ripped out of their gords, munching up all of mommy and daddy's name brand groceries. Why do you people spend all of your time criticizing people who use social services? Most of them are in the working poor, in case you don't know what that term means, they are people who work full time and are still under the poverty line. We are using tax dollars to bust these evil "potheads" who do nothing more than sit on the couch and giggle for a couple hours. Good Riddance, aren't there more important things to spend our tax dollars on?? Instead of all these very expensive, fancy, schmancy machines that can detect this evil drug, marijuana, that ruins lives one joint at a time, can we start working on some real problems?? Like homelessness, our plummeting literacy rates or unemployment rates?? Weed has been around longer than American government and its not going anywhere. Quit wasting our time and money.

John, while your last comment was directed at Stephanie, I couldn't help myself from responding. I grew up in Rochester, not Batavia. While, for my own sake, I didn't live in the inner city or downtown area, I still knew/know a lot of the RPD. Some by first name. While saying half of America's police force and lawyers are stoners is a bit of a stretch and hard to prove, I can promise you that about half of the RPD, give or take, toke up on regular basis. Some of the things they see and have to deal with on a regular basis takes that much of a toll on their psyche. I'm sure you'll find the same thing in large cities with a moderate to high crime and homicide rate.

John-your perception of social services is totally off base. While there are certainly people who abuse the system, the vast majority do not. While crucifying single mothers, you seem to forget the dead beat dads that left them behind. You do not see social services for what it is meant to be, a hand UP not a hand OUT. While I agree that these services could use a reform, such as mandatory drug tests to access these services, you believe that the problem is much bigger than it is. I do not collect public services, though my income would allow me to; however, the stigma that you attach to the people to receive these services is very judgmental and somewhat narrow minded. In all reality, 90% of families who use TANF (Temporary Assistance to Needy Families-what you refer to as 'welfare') grow out of these services in 2 years. You see, it is assistance to people who are struggling for a short period of time, until they are able to provide for themselves again. While there are always going to be exceptions, you are referring to a small minority of people who access these services. God forbid you are ever laid off and are in need of these services... I guess then you'll just be another pothead on welfare... as you will most definitely seek out drugs being that you are receiving government funded assistance.. right? Isn't that your logic?? As far as stoner cops go, you have to open up those eyeballs of yours and see the world for what it is. While I definitely cannot prove half of all police forces are getting high, there are quite a few who are- many more than people like yourself are willing to admit. If you research addiction/alcohol/substance abuse (as I do regularly as a senior Dean's List Social Work student) you will find that most of it lies in the middle to upper class (drugs aren't cheap!). Your comments are very condescending and very much incorrect in your assumptions and generalizations.
