Submitted by Howard Owens on January 27, 2010 - 3:20pm
One lane of Ledge Road in Basom is closed after a gas truck carrying 8,500 gallons of fuel jackknifed.
The truck remained upright and no gas was spilled.
No injuries are reported and there are apparently no other vehicles involved.

I watched a semi rig, trailer and all slide SIDEWAYS through the Texaco town intersection about 5:45am this morning (1/27/10). The driver attempted to make a left turn onto Rt 20 from Rt 63 north and was going entirely too fast. Truckers make the corner there way too fast even when the road is dry. One of them overturned into the Yellow Goose parking lot a few years ago.
Truckers, please slow the F*** (frig) down. It's winter and Genesee county doesn't appreciate it when you drive out of your league. Get a clue..roads are slippery.

Happens here in Batavia too. I followed 2 18 wheelers down Main in the downtown area, abreast of each other like it was a race...they were doing 40 mph downtown! They had both lanes heading east. I just stayed back hoping nothing terrible would happen. Crazy driving is everywhere.
