UPDATE, 10 a.m. Saturday.

An 8-year-old girl was killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident Friday night after the driver swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway.

Abagail Buzard, who was ejected from the vehicle, was pronounced dead at UMMC.

The SUV was driven by Courtney Buzard, 17, of Albion.

Initial reports:

Elba Rescue is responding to a rollover accident in Orleans County in which three people are reportedly injured and a baby is missing.

The single-vehicle accident is reportedly near Spoils Bank Road off Oak Orchard Road (Old Route 98).

UPDATE: There is more than one incident going on. I believe two ambulances initially responded and I believe Mercy 3 is enroute. (There's a concert at Darien Lake tonight which is also contributing to a lot of radio traffic.)

UPDATE: Three Genesee County ambulances responded, and possibly one from Orleans County. One ambulance took an 8-year-old to UMMC. Another ambulance took a 3-year-old and a father to Strong. A mother and another child were taken to Lakeside. No Mercy Flight transport reported.

Please say a prayer for all responding personal (whether it be family, fire, or police). The stress of this type of call is very high. May God guide the rescue personal to find all victims.

Howard from what I can make out from the radio traffic there is atleast 4 ambulances on scene 3 from mercy, 1 from orleans county if not more from orleans. Also they do have one mercy flight helicopter on the ground at that scene. I have not heard whether they have found the missing child yet or not. I did hear that some kind of activity was going on and the chief request police to his location immediately at one point and they also where looking for more EMT immediately early on. They also request additional EMT's to ride on one of the ambulances in to the hospital. I know its all confusing right now several incidents in the county going on right now.

Thanks for the help, Bruce. I just did an update with what I understand took place. It sounds like State Police are investigating the accident. If no press release is put out, I'll try to get the information as soon as I can.

My prayers to that poor family. That is a terrible stretch of road for deer.

Heartfelt prayers go out to this family. Wondering if they were in seatbelts? If they were ejected, it raises the question. Very sad indeed.
