Facebook Users Beware Of Trojan Virus
I wanted to warn everyone that uses Facebook and runs windows XP of a virus that is at large. I have identified it because I use windows live care one and it blocked it for me.
This virus is a Trojan and is identified by win32/FakeXPA. What happens is that it pops up on your screen and imitates windows xp. It says you are infected by a virus and if you dont open this file quickly your computer will crash. It automatically starts downloading three files out of four even when you hit cancel. The only thing that saved me was that I have a down load manager that doesnt open files till I decide to. I almost fell for it because it mimics XP with a security sheild leading some people ( two of my friends) that you are being protected. Once the downloads were complete my Live one care identified it and wiped it clean. I can also tell you that the free version of AVG doesnt work for protection on this virus. If I can get any more information about this I will update.
Congratulations on Winning, When can You Start ?
I am so thankful that the elections are all unofficially over with. I hope that the transition of power moves swift and smooth like so our newley elected officials will work hard to at least fix half of what they promised too. The economy will continue to tank while tax breaks seem ludicrious. Still there is hope for the future. A change ?
Genesee County Reflects on Loss of Local Hero
If you get a chance please read the Insights section of "the daily
news" 9/6/08 by Maureen-MaasFeary. (A-5).
It is just a small tribute to the passing away of Father David
Scheider. It mentions just a few of many things Father Dave has done
for this community and can never mention all the things he did as real
friend to so many people individually, myself included.
When I first met this down to earth older hip guy, who happened to be
a priest, he was jogging around East Pembroke. He was down to earth,
friendly, and seemed to be more interested in people than bible
thumping you into submission.
I was able to personally talk to him about some of my serious trials
and tribulations as a teenager, without fear, no topic to dangerous.
He was honest, sincere, and gave me the feeling that being a troubled
youth was normal. He made the idea of a priest can be your friend and
relate to you without hellfire and brimestone for doing the wrong
things.
He was a real person who touched my life and was a true founding
father of what small town living and realism should be all about.
Father Dave just happened to be a priest but to me he was just a much
needed Father figure.
Father Dave, you are my number one in the "things that made Genesee
County famous".
May God Bless You.
