Pooch tied up and left at donut shop

By Billie Owens

City police are responding to a report of an abandoned dog, tied to a pole, in front of Dunkin' Donuts, located at 136 W. Main St.

UPDATE 3:42 p.m.: The dog is being taken to the Genesee County Animal Shelter.

I would urge the police to investigate if there were any pedestrians that had a medical emergency, arrest, or accident nearby as they may have been hurt and forgot or be unconscious in the hospital/jail.
Other than that. Shame on you for abandoning your dog. Also minor thanks for abandoning it in a place where you knew it would be noticed, and not abandoning it unleashed to wander into traffic. Whoever you are you have a little sense...........i guess.

I know there is surveillance in Dunkin Donuts. Im not sure that abandoning your dog is crime. Animal Abuse? Animal Endangerment? Not sure that its worth the resources to track them down.
