Car vs. pole at Vine and North in the city

By Billie Owens

A car vs. pole accident, without injuries, is reported at North and Vine streets. Also, Bank Street into the City of Batavia is shut down due to the same accident.

Utility poles are down, blocking the roadway. Law enforcement is requested at Law and Bank Street.

Barracades to control traffic are requested.

I'm guessing he means North and Vine. Many people forget that Richmond turns into North once you pass Centennial Park (originally, when the park was an extension of the school for the blind, the roads did not connect).

Walked about a third of the way up Ross st. to get a better view of BPD, FDB, and Niagra Mohawk trucks. They were close to the end of Ross near Bank. Power is back on. Funny thing is while half of Manhattan was dark Ellsworth, and parts of Vine, East ave. and Ross from North to Main still had power.
Mercy Flight flew headed toward Buffalo.

I wondered what had happened, I was watching TV in my living room and it turned off. I went to check the Internet and heard the sirens. Went on a little drive around town to see what was going on, very interesting! They got it turned on pretty quickly.

Also, The Batavia is absolutely the best thing around. This was posted almost instantly after it happened. I love how reliable it is!

After reading the account of the accident, I am reminded of the Abbott and Costello routine: Who's on First? Could it be that the Law was requested to an accident on North Bank street?

with a chain saw and a strong arm?

with a mack truck?

with a tank?

Just spit balling here but I'm guessing they were exceeding the posted speed limit.
